The paper presents implementation and results of the application for displaying SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery operating in real-time. The application performs SAR imagery formation and displays results in real-time after receiving of preprocessed data via an SAR processing application. The application was used in SARape (Synthetic Aperture Radar for all weather penetrating UAV application) project founded by the European Defence Agency. The real-time operation is achieved thanks to implementation based on multithreading.

Content available remote A PXI-based electrical impedance tomography system for industrial use
EN
A design of an electrical impedance tomography system for three-dimensional and real-time imaging of ndustrial processes is described. The system is based on modular and easily extended PXI platform. In this case, the system consists of 16 parallel current injection channels and 80 parallel voltage measurement channels. The maximum of the frame rate of the system is about 100 frames/second depending on the configuration of the system. In order to study the quality of the system several laboratory tests are performed. Furthermore, two laboratory experiments are shown to verify the performance of the whole system.

Content available remote Holographic confocal microscope
EN
We have developed a new laboratory version of a reflected-light holographic confocal microscope (HCM). The confocal imaging capability with the depth discrimination has been verified by measuring the axial intensity response for a perfect plane mirror. The axial resolution is considerably improved without necessity of high-NA objectives using broadband illumination. The operating principle of the mechanisms employed in a laboratory version of the HCM is outlined

Content available remote Real-time 3D ultrasound imaging using laser-induced breakdown
EN
In this paper, we propose a new framework of ultrasonic (US) three-dimensional (3D) imaging, introducing laser-induced breakdown (LIB) as an acoustic source. LIB is a phenomenon in which substances transformed to plasma by a pulsed laser beam. LIB explosively emits a variety of energies such as heat, light and sound that also includes pulsed ultrasound. Emitted US waves have suitable characteristics for instantenous US imaging in terms of low directivity to enable a wide view and sharply pulsed waves to enhance the resolution. Utilizing these characteristics, we attempt to apply the synthetic aperture method for frontal 3D imaging in a real-time process. Experimental results show that even sparsely arrayed sensors allow a wider frontal view than that can be achieved in the case using existing transducer devices.
