Internet rzeczy (ang. Internet of Things – IoT) to jedna z najszybciej rozwijających się obecnie idei, w której otaczające człowieka przedmioty codziennego użytku ożywają i stają się inteligentne. Koncepcja ta łączy ze sobą dwa różne światy: fizyczny i wirtualny. Internet rzeczy jest stosunkowo nowym zagadnieniem, dlatego trudno go jednoznacznie definiować i przewidzieć kierunki jego rozwoju oraz możliwe zastosowania. W artykule ukazano Internet rzeczy w wymiarze edukacyjnym, w nauczaniu na poziomie szkoły wyższej. W pracy przedstawiono także potencjalne możliwości wykorzystania tej technologii w procesie dydaktycznym opierając się na przykładach spotykanych w edukacji w Polsce i na świecie.

Internet of Things (IoT) is currently one of the fastest growing concepts in which objects of everyday use come to life and become smart. The IoT conception combines two different worlds: the physical and the virtual one. Internet of Things is a relatively new concept and therefore it is difficult to define it precisely. For the same reason it is also a challenging task to predict its future developments as well as its potential applications. The article outlines IoT in its educational aspect with reference to teaching on the higher education level. Furthermore, on the basis of examples taken from education in Poland and in other countries in the world, potential possibilities of using the technology in the didactic process are presented and discussed.

Uwzględniając fakt istnienia wielu możliwych sytuacji, w których mamy do czynienia z pojęciem pogranicza, człowiek ukazany jest jako istota funkcjonująca na obszarach przenikania się tego, co kulturowe i zwierzęce, biologiczne i technologiczne, realne i wirtualne. Celem artykułu jest propozycja ujęcia masowych, sieciowych gier fabularnych jako specyficznego obszaru, w obrębie którego nie tylko tworzą się zjawiska społeczne, stanowiące efekt oddziaływanie graczy ze świata realnego, ale są one również czynnikiem powodującym przenikanie fenomenów wirtualnych do świata rzeczywistego, co stanowić może nowe pole badań dla nauk społecznych.

Considering the fact of existence of many possible situations in which a term of borderland can be used, the man is portrayed as a being living at the area where that what is cultural and animal, biological and technological, real and virtual is being merged. The main aim of the article is to show massively multiplayer role playing games as a specific area, at which not only social phenomena are coming into existence in effect of real-world players activity, but they are also a factor making virtual phenomena spread to the physical world, what may be treated as a new field of research for social sciences.

The article focuses on the results of the study on the labour-consumption in the process of assembly concerning air conditioning unit for buses with the use of Methods Time Measurement. The research was conducted in Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. company and involved work in both real world and virtual reality. Firstly, the very sense and the purpose of work measurement is discussed. Then, the authors present a stand for virtual designing of processes and objects with the application of CATIA software. The final part of the article shows the results of the aforementioned studies and conclusions drawn on their basis.

Artykuł porusza problemy "życiowego świata" młodzieży poprzez badania orientacji na system wartości. Życiowy świat jako całokształt preferencji, ocen, znaczeń i społecznego doświadczenia jest złożonym i stosunkowo zmiennym tworem, który istnieje w reżimie chaosu uwarunkowanym zewnętrznymi oddziaływaniami. Uporządkowanie w nim jest możliwe wskutek działania "porządku podporządkowywania" przez zarządzające parametry, do których odnoszą się: społeczne zachowania, wariant wyboru działania, opinia publiczna itd. Wskutek tego organizacja życiowego świata staje się możliwa do kierowania. Badanie orientacji na określony system wartości pozwala nie tylko przewidzieć zachowanie się młodzieży, lecz również je regulować.

The article centres on the moulding the youth's 'real word' through reliance on the system of values. The real word as a unity of preferences assessments and social experience is a complicated and variable entity which exists in the chaos conditioned by external influences. Its ordering is made possible by the 'order of subordination' through a member of prevalent parameters which include social behaviour, choice of activities, public opinion etc. As a result, moulding the real world becomes a process which can be guided. Orientation on a specific system of values makes it possible to foresee and regulate the behaviours of the younger generation.

Hearing Protectors: Topicality and Research Needs

Occupational noise specialists do not generally recommend hearing protection devices (HPDs) as a preferred solution to noise risk prevention. Nevertheless, these devices are widely used and are in fact often necessary. Selection of an HPD should take into account comfort and the capacity for perceiving external signals, when they are worn. Current European regulations require that HPD attenuation be considered, when comparing noise exposure to limit values. However, HPD attenuation is effectively unknown under real-world conditions. Some methods are designed to give approximate attenuation values and these provide results within a wide statistical range. Field measurement methods and current standards have been developed to deal with this situation. The specific characteristic of impulse noise requires establishment of dedicated criteria and tools for HPD selection and testing. This paper introduces a number of avenues for research, which could be of assistance in improving HPD selection, qualification and design.
