Modernizacja linii kolejowych i dopasowanie ich do współczesnych standardów wymagają zwykle przebudowy lub wzmocnienia istniejących obiektów inżynieryjnych.

Intensive modernisation of railway lines is almost always connected with the replacement of often damaged railway structures that are unfit for further service. This article presents the construction of a railway bypass, located near Krzyż Wielkopolski, along the E59 railway line at the junction with the 203 railway line. A variant analysis of several proposed solutions demonstrated that the construction of a bypass for the duration of the modernisation works will allow to maintain continuous railway traffic, will not create excessive problems for passengers, and at the same time will reduce the investment costs as compared to the implementation of replacement transport services.
