Let (X, ⊥) be an orthogonality module in the sense of Rätz over a unital Banach algebra A and Y be a real Banach module over A. In this paper, we apply the alternative fixed point theorem for proving the Hyers-Ulam stability of the orthogonally generalized k-quadratic functional equation of the form af(kx+y) + af(kx-y) = f(ax+ay) + f(ax-ay) + (2k2-2)f(ax) for some |k|>1, for all a∈A1:= {u∈A|‖u‖ = 1} and for all x,y∈X with x⊥y, where f maps from X to Y.

We deal with the system of functional equations connected with additive and quadratic mappings. We correct some mistakes made in the paper [W. Fechner, On the Hyers-Ulam stability of functional equations connected with additive and quadratic mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 322 (2006), 774–786] and provide accurate statements of those results. Moreover, we get the improvement of the Hyers-Ulam stability result of the considered system of functional equations.

In the paper we consider the problem of the Ulam-Hyers and Rassias types of stability of the quadratic functional equation for set-valued functions.

W pracy poszukuje się rozwiązań uogólnionego równania funkcjonałów kwadratowych postaci: A(x) + B(y) = C(x + y) + D(x - y) gdzie funkcje A, B, C, D przekształcają zbiór G1 na zbiór G2, oraz G1, G2 są grupami abelowymi. W drugiej części pracy badamy rozwiązania równania funkcjonałów kwadratowych o dziedzinie będącej przedziałem prostej rzeczywistej.

In the article we are concerned with the problem of the solutions of pexider quadratic functional equation f(x) + g(y) = h(x + y) + k(x - y) for all x,y belonging to X. Next, we are going to study the problem of the solutions of quadratic functional equation with the restricted domain.
