In the paper the linear and nonlinear evolution equations for Alfven modes corresponding to the vorticity equation and Ohm law of the reduced MHD equations are derived. The gyrokinetic formulation is used as the starting point of the analyses. The law [beta] appromation is used and consequently, only parellel component of magnetic vector potential is assumed to be different from zero. The equations contain the finite Larmour corrections and, in the linear case, the electron and ions Landau damping. The evolution equations contain the moments of distribution functions and should be supplemented by proper equations for moments of the distribution functions of ions and energetic particles. The Landau-fluid equations are the candidates for the evolution equations for the moments.
