W artykule omówiona została tematyka zaawansowanych systemów transportu publicznego (APTS). Wskazano architekturę ITS systemów. Określono miejsce systemu APTS w ITS systemie. Elementy systemu APTS zilustrowano przykładem "Rozwój systemu zarządzania transportem publicznym w Krakowie". Projekt ten uzyskał dofinansowanie z środków Unii Europejskiej (Europejski Fundusz Rozwoju Regionalnego 8.3 Rozwój Inteligentnych Systemów Transportowych POIiŚ).

The article discuses Advanced Public Transport Systems (APTS). Indicates ITS systems architecture. Defined in ITS systems role of APTS system. Elements of the APTS system illustrate an example of "Developing a management system for public transport in Krakow". Despite new technological solutions and attempts to improve the working conditions during the operation of vehicles, city bus drivers are still exposed to negative impacts of noise and vibrations, causing stress, increased fatigue and lead to numerous diseases. Therefore it seems merited to investigate the acoustic climate (i.e. acoustic phenomena caused by the sources of noise of vibrations in the function of time and space) and the working conditions during the operation of Solaris Urbino 18 vehicles, widely used in public transport systems.

W artykule przedstawione zostały wyniki badań ankietowych transportu miejskiego przeprowadzonych w 29 aglomeracjach państw należących oraz kandydujących do Unii Europejskiej. Skoncentrowano się na danych dotyczących wielkości przejazdów, podziale zadań przewozowych oraz stosowanych rozwiązaniach, mających ułatwić poruszanie się pojazdów w miastach transportu zbiorowego oraz ograniczyć korzystanie z samochodów osobowych.

In this paper the results of questionnaire investigations connected with the local public transport and conducted in 29 cities of the countries which are candidates or belong to the European Community have been presented. Attention has been brought to the data describing not only the volume of travel and modal split but also the solutions which have been applied to facilitate the moving of vehicles in cities where the mass public transport operates as well as to limit the usage of cars.
