Artykuł porusza zagadnienie współistnienia sacrum i profanum w przestrzeni publicznej w środowisku mieszkaniowym, w świetle badań życia publicznego i kompozycji urbanistycznej. Podjęty problem badawczy dotyczy potrzeby istnienia przestrzeni sacrum o tradycyjnej formie miejskiego placu w wielkich osiedlach mieszkaniowych. Odpowiedź oparto na badaniu placu przed kościołem Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego na Ursynowie Północnym w Warszawie pod kątem relacji sacrum i profanum i jej wpływu na warunki życia na osiedlu mieszkaniowym. Przeprowadzono badania genezy formy placu, uwarunkowań prawa miejscowego oraz praktyk partycypacyjnych, a także aktywności w przestrzeni placu na podstawie obserwacji in situ w latach 2004-2022. Wyniki badania wskazują na istnienie potrzeby miejskiej przestrzeni publicznej, która nie jest uzewnętrzniana w obecnych praktykach miejskich i partycypacyjnych.

The article discusses the coexistence of the sacred and the profane in the public space of a residential environment – in the light of research on public life and urban composition. The research problem concerns the existence of the need for a sacred space in the traditional form of an urban square in large housing estates. The study regarded the relationship between sacrum and profanum and its impact on the living conditions in the housing estate, exemplified by the square in front of the Church of the Ascension in North Ursynów district in Warsaw. The research subject included the genesis of the form of the square, the local legal background, participatory practices, and activity in the space of the square based on the on-site observations made in the years 2004-2022. The study results show the need for public urban space, not addressed in current urban and participatory practices.

Procesów globalizacji nie można sprowadzić do jednej siły je napędzającej. Próby ich wyjaśnienia wymagają uwzględnienia powiązanych ze sobą sił politycznych, gospodarczych, technologicznych, ekologicznych, a nawet psychologicznych i innych. Warunkami zaistnienia i rozwoju procesów globalizacji było nakładanie się wzajemne procesów, wzrostu skali, mobilności oraz integracji światowych rynków finansowych; deregulacji gospodarek narodowych; rewolucji technologicznej, w szeroko pojętym komunikowaniu społeczeństw. W tym sensie, procesy globalizacji są skutkiem kumulatywnego rozwoju społeczności międzynarodowej. Zatem - nie ma jednej siły sprawczej tych procesów, zachodzą one na wielu obszarach i dziedzinach życia społecznego. Przejawy tych procesów stają się ich czynnikami, a jedną z najważniejszych cech globalizacji jest niezależność od decyzji i działań przywódców państw oraz związanych z nimi elit politycznych. Konkludując rozważania wokół samego pojęcia, można przyjąć, iż globalizacja stanowi wieloaspektową, wielopłaszczyznową, wielopoziomową integrację (unifikację) w skali światowej, dokonującą się w wyniku przyspieszającej zmienności ludzkiego tycia, przenikania i współzależności jego elementów. Jest to proces transformacji zjawisk lokalnych do ich postaci ogólnej, w którego wyniku świat staje się dla ludzi "jednym miejscem" (single place).

The globalisation processes cannot be delimited only to one driving force. The attempts to explain their meaning require taking into account the interrelated political, economic, technological, ecological and even psychological powers. The conditions in which the globalisation processes have started and developed were the interfering processes, the intensification of the scale, mobility and integration of the financial world markets; deregulation of the domestic economies; technological revolution understood in the context of social communication. In this sense, the globalisation processes are the effect of the cumulative development of the international community. Therefore, there is no single creative force behind those processes as they take place on many different areas of social life. The reflections of those processes become their components and one of the major features of globalisation is its independence from decisions and actions taken by the leaders of particular countries and by the related political elites. Concluding the considerations on the notion of globalisation itself, it can be assumed that globalisation constitutes a multi-dimensional and multi-level integration (unification) carried out on the worldwide scale as a result of the accelerating changeability of human life, as well as permeation and interrelation of its particular components. Generally speaking, it is the process of transformation of the local phenomena into their more general forms as a result of which the world is becoming "a global village".
