Purpose: The aim of the article is to propose the studies and analyses schema considering the psychophysical state of the simulator's users. Within the project a simulator and a virtual environment that allow a group of people (e.g. security guard officers) with real equipment such as cars to train different scenarios are built. The simulator users are interacting both with other colleagues and virtual surroundings. It implies that classical methods of so-called simulator sickness measurement should be adopted to the type of interaction that we call man-man-machine interaction. Design/methodology/approach: Simulator sickness that manifests itself in physiological ailments is considered in an interdisciplinary approach with particular emphasis on psychological aspects such as coping with stress, anxiety or cognitive and visual techniques related to the combined static and dynamic platforms. The main methods for the research are psychological Paper-and-Pencil surveys, eye-tracking technics, postural equilibrium tests, Poppelreuter test and Simulator Sickness Questionnaire. Findings: The result is studies and analyses schema related to the simulator users’ psychophysical state appearing in the project ‘Virtual Simulator of Actions of the Polish Government Protection Office’. Research limitations/implications: The research is limited to simulators specified in purpose section. Practical implications: It is anticipated that more accurate selection of individuals for security services will be possible through the use of the proposed research and diagnostic methods and analysis of the results obtained. Social implications: It is provided that more specific choice of people for security services will result in better training of the staff, an increase of the sense of security of the protected people as well as their quality of life. Originality/value: The novelty of the article is an interdisciplinary approach to the study of simulator sickness which takes into account physiological, psychological, social (group work) and technical (type of simulator) aspects.

An accurate qualitative and comprehensive assessment of human potential is one of the most important challenges in any company or collective. We apply Bayesian networks for developing more accurate overall estimations of psychological characteristics of an individual, based on psychological test results, which identify how much an individual possesses a certain trait. Examples of traits could be a stress resistance, the readiness to take a risk, the ability to concentrate on certain complicated work.

Jakościowa oraz kompleksowa ocena potencjału ludzkiego jest jednym z najważniejszych wyzwań dla każdej firmy lub grupy. Sieci Bayesowskie stosowane są do opracowywania dokładniejszych ogólnych oszacowań cech psychologicznych jednostki, w oparciu o wyniki testów psychologicznych, które określają, jak dużo dana osoba posiada pewnych cech.

Zmieniające się przepisy skłaniają do uporządkowania od strony teoretycznej i metodologicznej problematyki badań kierujących pojazdami. W artykule zaproponowano teoretyczne definicje pojęć, które są używane w metodyce badań kierowców- w obszarach sprawności poznawczej i intelektualnej, osobowości i psychomotoryki. W dalszej części przedstawiono nowatorski zestaw metod diagnostycznych, dedykowany tym właśnie badaniom. Wstępne wyniki badań pozwalają przyjąć, że jest to zarówno narzędzie dobrze umocowane we współczesnej teorii psychologicznej jak i praktycznie skuteczne w przewidywaniu prawdopodobieństwa nieprawidłowych zachowań na drodze.

Changing rules incline to rearrangement of the theoretical and methodological background of fitness to drive assessment. The current study proposes a theoretical definitions of terms used in official methodology of psychological drivers assessment-in the areas of cognitive, intellectual and psychomotor skills and personality. In the next section a novel set of diagnostic methods, dedicated to this area, has been proposed. Preliminary results allow to assume that the proposed test battery is both a tool well anchored in contemporary psychological theory and practically effective in predicting the probability of aberrant traffic behaviour.

Artykuł ma na celu zapoznanie czytelnika z zagadnieniami związanymi z określaniem predyspozycji psychicznych kierowców, istotnych dla bezpiecznego prowadzenia pojazdu. Ukazano niezbędne sprawności fizyczne i psychiczne potrzebne kierującemu do właściwego reagowania w ciągle zmieniającej się sytuacji drogowej oraz przedstawiono rolę psychologicznych badań kierowców na rzecz bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego.

The purpose of the article is to acquaint the reader with the issues related to defining mental aptitude of the drivers, essential for safe driving. It presents necessary physical and psychological abilities the driver requires, to react properly in continuously changing traffic conditions. The role of psychological driver testing contributing to the road traffic safety, was also portrayed.

Firstly the idea of objective psychological tests and their characteristics related to various features of human psychophysiology are introduced. Examples of objective tests are given. Next application of data mining algorithms to analyse data obtained from different tests are outlined. The general concept of a computer system for objective psychological studies of psychomotoric processes in humans is then described. Finally the possibility of implementation of the system in medical and psychoacoustical studies is pointed out.
