W artykule opisano stosowany dawniej przewóz urobku z przodka pod szyb za pomocą trakcji konnej. Opisano warunki użytkowania koni w wyrobiskach dołowych oraz regulacje prawne w przepisach górniczych. Konie, oprócz transportu poziomego w wyrobiskach podziemnych, były wykorzystywane przy ciągnięciu urobku w napędzie kieratowym.

This paper describes the formerly used transport of mining output from the coalface under the mineshaft with horse traction. It describes the terms of use of horses in excavations and legal regulations in the mining regulations. In addition to the horizontal transport in underground working, the horses were used to the traction of mining output in the horse drive.

Pierwsze lokomotywy parowe powstały w początkach XIX wieku. W podziemnych wyrobiskach kopalń nie rozpowszechniły się one, z powodu wydzielania dużych ilości pary i dymu. Pierwsze próby z lokomotywami na sprężone powietrze podjęto przy drążeniu tuneli alpejskich. Produkcję seryjną lokomotyw pneumatycznych rozpoczęto w 1905 roku. W śląskich kopalniach pierwsze lokomotywy pneumatyczne zakupił koncern Goduli dla kopalni Morgenroth w Chebziu. Budowa kopalń w Rybnickim Okręgu Węglowym i eksploatacja pokładów metanowych wymusiła stosowanie w przewozie dołowym takich lokomotyw. W polskich kopalniach metanowych stosowano lokomotywy typu BVD produkcji czechosłowackiej oraz lokomotywy typu Troll firmy Jung.

First steam locomotives were created at the beginning of 19th century. In the underground excavation zones of coal mines, however, steam locomotives did not become common due to the amount of steam and smoke they produced. First underground attempts with the use of locomotives powered by compressed air were undertaken whilst drilling tunnels in the Alps. Serial production of pneumatic locomotives was initiated in 1905. Among Silesian coal mines first pneumatic locomotives were bought by Godula concern for Morgenroth coal mine in Chebzie. Building of coal mines in Rybnik Coal Area and excavation of methane layers forced the use of pneumatic locomotives for underground haulage. The BVD type locomotives of Czechoslovak production as well as Toll type locomotives produced by Jung Company were used in the Polish coal beds with high methane risk. Pneumatic locomotives found largest use in coal mines endangered with methane.

The article describes the formerly used transport of mining output from coalface under the mineshaft with the use of horse traction. Apart from the horizontal transport in underground pits, horses were used for pulling the mining output in the horse whim. The conditions of horse use in excavations and legal regulations of the mining law are discussed in the article.
