Software development projects are the essential part of business activity of many IT companies. According to numerous studies and reports, approximately only one-third of IT projects turn out to be successful. Software development projects require unique approach in order to meet customer’s requirements. This article provides an in-depth literature review on barriers to IT project launch and implementation. Also, the paper presents key findings of a research that was carried out to identify the most significant barriers to IT projects implementation.
