Przestrzeń publiczna tradycyjnego miasta ma charakter biegunowy. Między dominantami a obrzeżnymi terenami zieleni wytwarza się kompozycyjne napięcie. Strukturalizm zwraca uwagę na rolę przestrzeni biegunowej w powstawaniu genius loci. Nowy urbanizm przywraca zasadę wzrostu struktury miejskiej, nieco zapomnianą w czasach dominacji samochodu. Jest to zasada modułów - quiet areas, umieszczonych w zielonej sieci regulatorów i stymulatorów.

Public space of a traditional city is of polar nature. Tension of a composition arises between the dominants and greenery edges. Structuralism pays attention to the role of polar space in the creation of genius loci. New urbanism restores the principle of the increase in the town substance, a bit neglected in the era dominated by car. It is a principle of modules - quiet areas located among the green network of regulators and stimulators.

The Grassmann space of k-subspaces of a polar space is defined and its geometry is examined. In particular, its cliques, subspaces and automorphisms are characterized. An analogue of Chow's theorem for the Grassmann space of k-subspaces of a polar spaces is proved.
