The concept of an intelligent enterprise as a result of the convergence of logistics megatrends

The convergence of logistics megatrends, including transformations in logistics models, the growing influence of modern, innovative and intelligent technologies, the use of ICT technology and global competition (e-trade and e-purchasing development, mobile services expansion) have led to a new concept known as the “Intelligent Enterprise”. This concept is a relatively young field in modern business management. As physical assets are given a digital voice, the Intelligent Enterprise allows businesses to run operations more efficiently and make better decisions with improved real-time visibility. Achieving greater enterprise asset intelligence offers businesses a sense of what is happening in their operations, provides them with a way to quickly analyse the information and gives them a platform to act on it to reach higher levels of growth, productivity and service. The aim of the paper is to describe of the concept of an Intelligent Enterprise and provide the specification of its characteristics. The objective is to be achieved through analysing the author's surveys results carried out in 2018. The studies were conducted on a group of 80 people – managers in manufacturing companies responsible for supply chains management.

Patrząc na raport IDC dotyczący priorytetów sektora Utilities na najbliższe lata widzimy trzy obszary, które wskazane zostały jako najważniejsze w 2018 r. Pierwszym z nich jest cyfryzacja przedsiębiorstwa energetycznego z uwzględnieniem energetyki rozproszonej, drugim - analityka w zarządzaniu majątkiem technicznym. Trzecim, którego nie sposób przecenić - kontakt i doświadczenie klienta. Zagadnienia te były szeroko dyskutowane podczas konferencji SAP POWERSTORM 2018, która odbyła się w listopadzie w Łodzi. Dywagacje ekspertów dotykały również nowoczesnego podejścia do innowacji oraz koncepcji inteligentnego przedsiębiorstwa, operującego w sektorze utilities.

W referacie za cel przyjęto poznanie i ocenę efektywności zarządzania zasobami niematerialnymi w przedsiębiorstwie inteligentnym. Całość prezentowanych rozważań podzielono na dwie zasadnicze części. Rozważania zaprezentowane w części pierwszej charakteryzują modele pomiaru zasobów niematerialnych w przedsiębiorstwach. Druga część opracowania jest prezentacją wyników badań empirycznych w zakresie oceny efektywności zarządzania zasobami niematerialnymi za pomocą modelu intelektualnej wartości dodanej. Zastosowanymi metodami badawczymi są: studia literaturowe, analiza opisowa oraz analiza trendu modelu VAIC™. Problematyka pomiaru i oceny zasobów niematerialnych jest ważna i aktualna z uwagi na jej wpływ na efektywność zarządzania w przedsiębiorstwach inteligentnych.

The objective of the paper is to explore and assess the efficiency of management of intangible resources in a smart enterprise. The whole of the presented considerations has been divided into two basic parts. The considerations discussed in the first part characterize the models of measurement of intangible resources in enterprises. The other part of the paper is the presentation of the results of the empirical research highlighting the assessment of efficiency of management of intangible resources using the model of intellectual value added. The applied research methods are literature studies, descriptive analysis and trend analysis of the VAIC™ model. The problem of the measurement and assessment of intangible resources is important and up-to-date on account of its impact on efficiency of management in smart enterprises.
