This paper deals with the impact of fabric density on fabric thickness change when samples are subjected to uniaxial tensile forces in the weft direction. During stretching, fabric thickness changes depending on the value of the tensile force. In an effort to be as precise as possible in measuring fabric dynamic thickness changes and the area on which the tensile force acts, a new measuring apparatus was designed and constructed. This measuring apparatus allows the simultaneous measurement of fabric dynamic thickness, related tensile axial forces and extension. Measurements of the fabric dynamic thickness, breaking force and breaking extension during the stretching process were carried out on five samples of cotton woven fabric with a constant warp density and different weft densities in the same structural plain weave. Based on the experimentally obtained values, the paper presents diagrams of the relationship between dynamic changes in fabric thickness in relation to the tensile force and extension. The research presented in this paper shows that an increase in the tensile force increases fabric thickness for all weft densities. Also, the out-of-plane woven fabric ratio was calculated as a relation between the relative thickness strain and relative axial strain. The characteristic curve shows this ratio.

W artykule określono wpływ gęstości wątku na zmianę grubości tkaniny podczas oddziaływania jednoosiowych sił rozciągających w kierunku wątku. Podczas rozciągania grubość tkaniny zmienia się w zależności od wartości siły rozciągającej. Aby pomiar dynamicznych zmian grubości tkaniny i obszaru, na który działa siła rozciągająca był jak najbardziej precyzyjny zaprojektowano i zbudowano nowy aparat pomiarowy. Zaprezentowane urządzenie pomiarowe umożliwia jednoczesny pomiar grubości dynamicznej tkaniny oraz powiązanych sił osiowych i rozciągania. Pomiary grubości dynamicznej tkaniny, siły zrywającej i rozciągania przy zerwaniu podczas procesu rozciągania przeprowadzono na pięciu próbkach tkanin bawełnianych o stałej gęstości osnowy, różnych gęstościach wątku i tym samym strukturalnym splocie płóciennym. Na podstawie uzyskanych eksperymentalnie wartości w pracy przedstawiono schematy zależności między dynamicznymi zmianami grubości tkaniny w stosunku do siły rozciągającej i rozciągania. Badania przedstawione w artykule pokazały, że wzrost siły rozciągającej zwiększa grubość tkaniny dla wszystkich gęstości wątku. Obliczono również stosunek tkaniny w płaszczyźnie jako stosunek między odkształceniem względnej grubości a względnym odkształceniem osiowym.

This paper proves relations, which concern the structure of knitted fabric by using a simple geometrical model. In addition, a series of graphics are made which allow fast, simple and effective analysis of the relations between some of the parameters of the knitting process and these of the ready-knit fabric. The quantity "relative geometrical prolongation of the thread length in the stitch", introduced by me plays a significant role in this study. The relations given below allow the machine gauge to be defined; this helps to produce knit fabric with precisely calculated density by choosing appropriate values for the thread's sinking depth and acceptable average geometrical prolongation.

Several results on stability in impulsive dynamical systems are proved. The first main result gives equivalent conditions for stability of a compact set. In particular, a generalization of Ura's theorem to the case of impulsive systems is shown. The second main theorem says that under some additional assumptions every component of a stable set is stable. Also, several examples indicating possible complicated phenomena in impulsive systems are presented.
