Wire Electric Discharge Machining (WEDM) is one of the important non-traditional machining process used for machining difficult to machine materials like composites and inter-metallic materials, Intricate profiles. In the present work, the study has been made to optimize the process parameters during machining of Hastelloy -C-276 by wire-cut electrical discharge machining (WEDM). This paper presents an effective approach to optimize process parameters for Wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) is extensively used in tool and die industries. Precision and intricate machining are the strengths. While machining, time and surface quality still remains as major challenges. The input parameters are pulse on time (Ton), pulse off time (Toff), wire feed rate and current and voltage were changed during the process. The optimization of analysis is performed by using Genetic Algorithm (GA) method L-27 orthogonal array.

Scale-dependency is one of the well-known features of ecological boundaries. Unfortunately, there are relatively few case studies analysing boundaries of different scales. Moreover, properties of moving split window (MSW) technique, a method potentially suitable for examining boundaries at several spatial scales, are not fully understood. In this study, we used artificial data sets to test the capacities and limitations of the MSW method. We also applied field data from the Mecsek Mts (Hungary) (611 m a.s.l.) in order to reveal possible boundaries at different scales and to contribute to the knowledge on vegetation pattern of mountain areas. We found that one should apply several window-widths when using MSW, since this is the only way to detect and differentiate between boundaries of different scales. Our study revealed the vegetation pattern of Mt Tubes: there is a series of continuously intergrading mesic communities on the northern slope, while the southern slope is occupied by a mosaic of different xeric communities. In this pattern, boundaries of two different scales have been identified. We conclude that MSW could effectively be used in similar mountain regions to analyse herb layer vegetation patterns and boundaries.

Content available remote Wpływ wybranych parametrów obróbki na pochylenie płaszczyzny przecięcia
PL
W artykule zaprezentowano rezultaty badań wpływu wybranych parametrów procesu cięcia wysokociśnieniową strugą wodno-ścierną na wskaźnik charakteryzujący pochylenie powierzchni bocznej powstałej szczeliny. Analiza wyników prac doświadczalnych pozwoliła wyznaczyć zależności regresyjne, które mogą być wykorzystywane do oszacowania pochylenia płaszczyzny przecięcia, gdyż dają mierzalny wskaźnik jakości omawianego sposobu kształtowania materiałów.

The article presents the results of basic research on the influence of machining parameters for one of indicators, characterizing the surface slope of formed kerf. The analysis of the research results had enabled to determine the regression relationship, which can be used to estimate the straightness of intersections, and gives a measurable quality indicator for this forming material method.
