The requirements of PN-E-05205:1997 for antistatic protection and methods of testing and evaluating the antistatic properties of selected items of protective clothing, such as sweatshirts, trousers, aprons, overalls, intended for employees working with explosives, are presented. These test methods are used in the Laboratory of Chemical Safety and Static Electricity of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – the Institute of Organic Industry.

Przedstawiono wymagania ochrony antyelektrostatycznej oraz metody badań właściwości antyelektrostatycznych wybranych elementów odzieży ochronnej, takich jak np. bluzy, spodnie, fartuchy, kombinezony, przeznaczonej dla pracowników wykonujących czynności technologiczne z użyciem materiałów wybuchowych, według wymagań PN-E-05205:1997. Prezentowane metody badań stosowane są w Laboratorium Bezpieczeństwa Chemicznego i Elektryczności Statycznej Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz - Instytutu Przemysłu Organicznego.

The publication presents the usable properties of knitting materials intended for selected groups of protective articles. Functional uses of knitted fabrics were shaped by the type of raw materials and weaves and the way of finishing. The object of the study was the knitwear made from metararamid and antistatic yarns or yarns from modified cellulose fibres. The finishing process of the knitted fabric was carried out using a two-way method of impregnation using two different chemically-antimicrobial agents and a softening agent. Materials after special and classical finishes were subjected to assessment in terms of protective properties against hot thermal factors and static electricity, antibacterial features and selected biophysical properties.

W artykule omówiono wymagania jakie powinna spełniać odzież ochronna o właściwościach antyelektrostatycznych. Przytoczono aktualne kryteria ochrony przed elektrycznością statyczną dotyczące: ubrań, rękawic oraz obuwia, stosowanych w strefach zagrożenia wybuchem oraz w przemyśle elektronicznym. Podano metody badań gotowych wyrobów lub materiałów przeznaczonych na odzież ochronną o właściwościach antyelektrostatycznych, zgodnie z dokumentami normatywnymi.

This paper presents requirements of antistatic protective garments and gives the current criteria of protection against static electricity for: clothes, gloves and shoes used in explosive atmospheres and in the electronics industry. Test methods of finished products and materials used for antistatic protective garments, in accordance with the normative documents has been listed in this paper.
