The review article deals with the current issue of collective protection, including collective protection against contamination. The hypothetical threats to the national territory of contamination from toxic industrial agents from high-risk plants (HR) and radioactive materials are presented. Collective protection against toxic industrial agents was characterized, on the basis of NATO documents. The issue of isolation (sealing) of collective protection facilities was discussed. The physical basis of the penetration of hazardous substances into objects as a function of pressure and temperature changes was presented, including ways to protect objects from the penetration of contaminated air.

W pracy przedstawiono ogólne informacje związane z oczyszczaniem powietrza w stałych obiektach obronnych. Omówiono współczesne zagrożenia układu oddechowego. Scharakteryzowano zbiorowe środki ochrony przed skażeniami pod względem funkcjonalnym i eksploatacyjnym. Zaprezentowano sposoby zabezpieczenia obiektów przed przenikaniem skażonego powietrza. Przedstawiono systemy filtrowentylacyjne (UFW), jako podstawowe urządzenia do oczyszczania, wentylacji i recyrkulacji powietrza stosowane w obiektach ochrony zbiorowej. Praca zawiera informacje techniczne i technologiczne dotyczące eksploatacji UFW w obiektach ochrony zbiorowej.

In the paper, the general information regarding the air purification in permanent defence facilities is presented. The hazards for breathing system are discussed. The group measures for a protection against contamination are characterized from functional and exploitation point of view. The ways to protect objects against infiltration of contaminated air are discussed. The filtering and ventilation systems (UFW) are presented as the basic devices for purifying, ventilation, and recirculation of air. This paper contains technological information regarding UFW exploitation in collective protection shelters.
