On March 20th, 2003 falls 120th anniversary of signing the Paris Convention that started the international co-operation in industrial property protection. Moreover, the act of such a high rank described the subject matter of protection, distinguishing common elements. The convention was a step to unify law. For the first time in history, inventions, utility and industrial patters and trademarks could be protected not only in the country where they came up. Due to the Convention’s articles, the military and civilian personnel can freely submit their inventions in their country and outside it. They receive protection of their developments for a certain amount of time as long as they pay fees. The inventors are authorised to decide on their rights to and from a patent in case of a sale, cession or exchange. Licence contracts started to play a significant role as they opened a legal road to new technologies used by the national defence sector.
