The article concerns the assessment of the phenomenon hairiness yarn, and the factors affecting its formation and negative impact hairiness on the operation of technology used in the spinning process. The article presents the impact of the nominal physical properties of yarns, selected operating parameters of spinning and spinning techniques, selected physical properties of the fibers and the type of yarn on the of hairiness yarn. It was found that the yarn hairiness increases with the increase of the participation of short fibers in the raw material decreases with an increase in the number of twist, it is larger for the thick yarns, and a smaller yarns with thin yarn hairiness increases from the tip of the spinning cops to its base. It was also found that the hairiness of yarn affects not only the efficiency of processes, but can also be reflected in the functional properties and appearance of finished products.
