Koszty utrzymania pojazdów samochodowych w odpowiednim stanie technicznym, poprzez obsługiwanie, stanowią istotny składnik ogólnych kosztów ich eksploatacji. Na obsługiwanie pojazdów składają się obsługi techniczne (przeglądy, konserwacje, regulacje, diagnostyka, itp.) oraz naprawy, przy czym podstawowym rodzajem procesów w systemach obsługiwania pojazdów są przeglądy techniczne, które posiadając planowy charakter, odpowiednią hierarchie, cykliczność oraz określony zakres pozwalają stosunkowo dokładnie wyznaczyć koszty realizacji przeglądów technicznych. Obok kosztów przeglądów technicznych, istotnym składnikiem ogólnych kosztów obsługiwania pojazdów są naprawy, których zadaniem jest odtworzenie stanu zdatności użytkowej pojazdów. Naprawy realizowane mogą być według z góry przyjętych zasad, np. po przepracowaniu określonej liczby godzin lub po określonym przebiegu (naprawy okresowe) lub też realizowane na podstawie wyników diagnozy stanu technicznego. Niezależnie od przyjętej formy poddawania pojazdów naprawie należy, w celu ograniczenia kosztów, błędów w trakcie naprawy i uniknięcia napraw reklamacyjnych prowadzić je zgodnie z planowym, logistycznie opracowanym procesem. Temu zagadnieniu poświecono niniejszy artykuł wskazując na sposoby i możliwości właściwego planowania napraw pojazdów.

The costs of maintenance and upkeep of passenger vehicles which remain in adequate technical condition, executed through maintenance and servicing, constitute an important ingredient of all costs of vehicle exploitation. Technical services constitute the general vehicle maintenance activities (reviews, maintenance, regulations, diagnostics, etc.) as well as repairs whereas the basic type of processes within the vehicle servicing system are constituted by technical reviews, which characterised by their planned character, adequate hierarchy, periodicity as well as the determined scope allow for relatively exact and thorough determination of the costs of execution of technical reviews. Apart from technical reviews, an important factor influencing the general costs is constituted by repairs the task of which is to restore the condition of exploitation applicability of vehicles. Repairs may be executed based upon the generally adopted principles, i.e. following the execution and completion of the particular amount of labour hours or mileage (periodical repairs) or may be executed based upon the results of the diagnosis of the technical condition of the vehicle. Regardless of the adopted form of vehicle repairs, in order to limit the costs or errors in the process of the execution of repairs as well as in order to avoid complaint type of repairs such activities should be executed in accordance with the adequately planned and logistically prepared processes. The hereby article has been devoted to the aforementioned issue thus pointing out the methods and possibilities of the correct planning of vehicle repairs.
