In this paper the simulation of the orifice flow using PHOENICS and FLUENT CFD programs has been shown. The velocity has been given as inlet boundary condition and the pressure difference on the orifice has been calculated. The main aim of the presented simulation was to compare computed results with normalised values. The pressure distribution and velocity vectors shows better results obtained using FLUENT.

In the paper a CFD analysis of the pulsating gas flow in the compressor oil separator has been presented. Analysed compressor oil separator is a part of the high power methane compressor gas installation, and the pressure pulsations in there are the cause of strong vibrations. The main aim of the present simulation was to determine, on the basic of three dimensional calculations, the acoustical response of the oil separator. The main acoustical parameters on the basis of which the impedance matrix elements will be in future determined are the response time and the shape of p(tau) and w(tau) functions.
