In the world there are two main problems concerning energy and ecology. Despite the crude oil price fluctuation, it has tended to increase. Moreover fossil fuel burning emits hazard compounds, including greenhouse gas. To solve them alternative fuels for vehicle have to be used. In due to properties, their usage impacts on the engine efficiency. The alternative fuel usage needs additional investment costs on the vehicle engines adaptation and fuel supply infrastructure. So, decisions must be based on mathematical apparatus. Three submodels were used in the suggested mathematical model: energy and economic indicator for fuels; energy and economic indicator for vehicles; criteria for investment projects. As a criterion of investment projects the profitability index has been grounded. The mathematical model and the algorithm for determining the feasibility of the alternative fuel utilization have been developed. The proposed algorithm includes the following stages: calculation of the fuel energy cost; calculation of the criteria for vehicles; determining the maximum value of investments; making decisions. Biofuels and gaseous fuels for some countries have been studied. The economic attractiveness of the alternative transport fuels has been presented. According to mathematical modeling, gaseous fuels are more economically attractive compared with liquid biofuels. Among gaseous fuels, LPG has a higher economic efficiency. The economic margin of alternative fuel application feasibility has been determined.

Badania prowadzono na kurach nieśnych Tetra SL utrzymywanych w chowie ściółkowym i alternatywnym z podłogami rusztowymi, w standardowych warunkach mikroklimatycznych, żywionych jednakowymi przemysłowymi mieszankami paszowymi. Okres badań trwał od 16-52 tygodnia życia ptaków. Rejestrowano zdrowotność, zużycie paszy i nieśność grupową. Uzyskane średnie wyniki odniesiono do 1 m2 powierzchni produkcyjnej budynku i obliczono wskaźnik opłacalności oraz wskaźnik efektywności technologii. W efekcie analizy piśmiennictwa i zebranych wyników badań stwierdzono niską opłacalność chowu kur nieśnych w obu omawianych systemach utrzymania oraz wysnuto przypuszczenie, że efekt ten można poprawić utrzymując kury np. w klatkach wzbogaconych.

Investigations dealt with the Tetra SL laying hens, kept both, in straw bedding and on the slotted floor systems, under standard microclimatic conditions, fed with identical commercial feed mixtures. The period of research lasted from 16th till 52nd week of bird's life. The health of birds, feed consumption and group laying were recorded. Average results were related to 1 m2 of building production surface, and than the profitability and technology effectiveness indices were calculated. On the basis of literature review and obtained research results it was stated that in both mentioned poultry housing systems the profitability of laying hen raising is low; it was assumed that the effect could be improved by keeping the hens e.g. into enriched cages

Przedstawiono analizę wybranych technologii stosowanych w produkcji roślinnej w aspekcie zrównoważonego rozwoju. Wyniki badań wykazały, że jest możliwe stosowanie technologii przyjaznych środowisku jeżeli zostanie opracowany system bodźców ekonomicznych stymulujących ich rozwój. Technologie te charakteryzują się relatywnie niskim poziomem kosztów bezpośrednich przy zachowaniu korzystnego wskaźnika opłacalności produkcji.

Selected technologies applied in field crop production were analysed in aspect of susteinable development of agriculture. The results showed that the use of environmentally friendly technologies in crop production may be expected when the system of adequate economic motivations will be developed to stimulate them. The technologies are characterized by direct financial inputs on relatively low level at maintained advantageous index of production profitability.
