In the present paper, a semi-empirical method for determining coefficients of the JWL (Jones-Wilkins-Lee) isentrope for detonation products of condensed explosives is proposed. The experimental data used in the method are the results of measurements of the detonation wave velocity, detonation pressure, heat of reaction, and the results of the so-called cylinder test, that is, the recorded data of expansion of a copper tube being accelerated by the detonation products. The measurement results and those of numerical modelling of the process of tube acceleration are the basis for determining the coefficients of isentrope. In the paper, the method is described and the values of the coefficients for the detonation products of chosen explosives are obtained using the experimental data given in literature. The JWL isentropes obtained are compared with those determined in literature by other methods.
