Price as a determinant of a food product’s image

The article was to achieve two research goals, that is identifying and arranging hierarchically factors which influence the image of a food product and defining the place among them taken by the price. The article is of theoretical-empirical character. In the theoretical part of the article, the method of cognitive-critical analysis of world’s marketing and marketing management literature was used. In the research part, on the other hand, the method of questionnaires was used to gather primary data and also the method of factors’ analysis to carry out statistical deduction. On the basis of research conducted it can be stated that the price of a food product is not a crucial determinant of its image. The first place in the hierarchical structure of image’s determinants was taken by brand factor, whereas the last place went to the price. The knowledge of these factors and their hierarchical structure enables the bidders of food products to manage the image effectively and efficiently, which determines the value of research and conclusions drawn from their results.

W artykule ukazano rolę systemów informatycznych we wspomaganiu przepływów produktów żywnościowych w centrach logistycznych. Uzyskane wyniki badań przeprowadzone wśród polskich centrów logistycznych pozwalają stwierdzić, że systemy informatyczne oferują szeroką pomoc w zarządzaniu przepływem produktów żywnościowych wśród której wyróżnia się zwiększenie efektywności zaopatrzenia, obniżenie liczby pomyłek, czy śledzenie przepływu partii towarów w całym łańcuchu. Dzięki świadczeniu kompleksowych usług przez centra logistyczne możliwe jest trwałe doskonalenie systemów informatycznych jak również zapewnienie optymalnego przepływu produktów żywnościowych.

The article presents the role of IT systems in supporting the flow of food products in logistic centers. The results, obtained in the course of research conducted among 15 Polish logistic centers, allow to state that IT systems offer extensive help in managing the flow of food products. Thus, the increase of management effectiveness, the reduction of number of mistakes, either tracing the flow of goods’ batch in the whole chain can be distinguished. Due to the provision of comprehensive services by logistic centers, it is possible to improve permanently the technology of information, as well as assuring the optimum flow of food products.

Artykuł podejmuje istotny we współczesnej higienie i technologii żywienia problem, jakości produktów żywnościowych rozumianej w kategoriach bezpieczeństwa żywnościowego. Wyróżniono trzy podstawowe wątki: 1) pojęciowo-definicyjny, w którym autor dokonuje analizy terminów kluczowych, takich jak: żywność, środki spożywcze, żywność funkcyjna, bezpieczeństwo żywności, jakość zdrowotna żywności, dobra praktyka produkcyjna. Drugi wątek tekstu stanowi analiza bezpieczeństwa żywności z odniesieniem do Hazard Analysis Critical Control. Trzeci wątek tekstu to egzempifikacja problemu na podstawie prezentacji danych uboju wieprzowego i przetworu mięsa oraz danych statystycznych, zawierających wyniki analiz mikrobiologicznych, chemicznych i organoleptycznych, jakie wskazują na problem bezpieczeństwa konsumpcji w Polsce.

The article describes the problem of food quality presented in terms of food safety which has become en extremely important issue of the present hygiene and food technology. The article is focused on three basic issues : 1) terms and definitions - the author makes and analysis of the key terms such as food, food stuffs, functional food, food safety, health quality of food, good production practice; 2)analysis of food safety with reference to Hazard Analysis Critical Control. This analysis serves at the same as the basis for defining food safety in Polish conditions compared to the European and world standards; 3) presenting the problem using examples of data on slaughter of hogs and meat processing and statistical data including results of microbiological, chemical and organoleptic analyses that indicate the food problems in Poland prom the viewpoint of consumption safety.

W związku z rozwojem hurtowych rynków żywności zaistniały potrzeby dostaw różnych jej asortymentów do odbiorców detalicznych. Produkty te wymagają zróżnicowanych warunków transportu. Wychodząc naprzeciw tym potrzebom, transport chłodniczy staje się bardziej elastyczny. Najwięcej widocznych kroków w wymienionym kierunku dokonano w budowie samochodów chłodni. W polsce wielokomorowe i wielotemperaturowe samochody budowane są w Dębicy.
