Requirements for quality and the full traceability of products supplied in some industries, such as eg. the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry as well as automotive industry, result that the implementation of production flow control systems (FCS) becomes a very important element in the functioning of enterprises. Production flow control systems are used generally for recording production data at different stages of industrial processes (in this respect, they fulfill the function of traceability systems), but also provide blocking of incorrectly processed identifiable components during the earlier stages of the production. The information provided by traceability can be the basis for the functioning of integrated information systems. Production flow control systems ensure the recording of important information from the point of view of customer that allows the capture of defective products, analysis of the causes of these defects, and defense against potential complaint or even a significant reduction in the number of complaints. Applied are dedicated or universal solutions, adaptable to a variety of configuration lines / production cells. Dedicated solutions (for a specific production line) are basically always developed from scratch, taking into account the specificity of the product flow. Then the structure of the data in the PLC has to be adjusted, as well as the structure of the database and the database queries. Dedicated systems have the advantage that their action is fast, whereas the drawback is a longer start-up time and modification / expansion of functionality. On the other hand, universal solutions allow to configure the number of workstations and their type (controlled by a PLC or PC), their network addresses, as well as the types of products allowed there without changing the software. The advantage of universal solutions is that additional production workstations can be added very fast to the system, while the disadvantage may be longer lasting query the database and exchange information with the PLC. The concept of an universal system must be well thought and considered have to be different configuration cases of the material flow. Poorly thought-out concept takes revenge on the creator by the necessity of profound changes in the structure of the data and the application code. The purpose of this article is to present the advantages and disadvantages of dedicated and universal TCS / FCS systems.

W artykule zaprezentowano przykładową koncepcję systemu identyfikowalności produktów (ang. traceability) zastosowanego w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na funkcjonalność takiego systemu w zakresie lokalnym, obejmującym linię lub gniazdo produkcyjne. Na początku artykułu wyjaśniono pojęcie "traceability" - identyfikowalność - i jej znaczenie w przemyśle, a także szczegółowe funkcje lokalnego systemu traceability. W dalszej części artykułu opisano przykład zastosowania takiego systemu w przedsiębiorstwie z branży motoryzacyjnej (dostawca komponentów) z gniazdową formą organizacji produkcji. Podano schemat rozważanego gniazda produkcyjnego wraz z niezbędnym do funkcjonowania systemu sprzętem i oprogramowaniem. W dalszej części artykułu zamieszczono opis rozważanego systemu z punktu widzenia rodzaju i znaczenia wymienianych i rejestrowanych danych. Artykuł kończy się wnioskami dotyczącymi przyczyn stosowania oraz pożyteczności lokalnych systemów traceability.

The article presents an example of the concept of system for traceability of products used in the automotive industry. Particular attention was paid to the functionality of such a system involving the local production line or cell. At the very beginning the article explains the concept of traceability and its importance in the industry as well as the detailed functions of the local system of traceability. Further this article describes an example of such a system in the company of the automotive sector (supplier of components), which uses the cell form of production organisation. Further the scheme of considered production cell with he hardware and software necessary as well as a description of the considered system from the perspective of the nature and meaning of data exchanged and registered was presented. The article ends with conclusions on the causes of application and usefulness of local systems of traceability.

A reliable and efficient information flow in an industrial company is the bas e for its proper operation. It is very important especially when it is necessary to analyze the progress of order s to be completed. One of essential elements of an enterprise functioning is an organization of registration and storage of production data, which would be used to prepare reports and to analyze the actual state of production. To achieve these, computer aided and integrated systems for manual or automated production data acquisition (PDA) are applied. The basic task for software solutions in the area of enterprise management support is to ensure high quality information, which will be used in decision processes. The expectations of users in this area can be treated as a set of determined features of data collected. Information should be reliable, be essential from the user's point of view, be possible to acquire, be enabled in case of keeping proper response time, ensure access privacy and guarantee a full security in case of system failure, for example through doubling of essential elements of the solution. Production data acquisition includes, apart from technical collection of data, harmonization of the data collected and its evaluation with required organization of enterprise structures. Data from an enterprise is information specific for the company, which is needed for control and supervision of company flows. Production data collection is the part of information system, which encompasses the whole enterprise. The goal of the paper is to describe the detailed solution of computer support for production data acquisition. The idea of production data collection can be applied in enterprises, which produce polyurethane foam (in form of blocks). The system developed collects production data in a relational database and enables in the early version only manual data enter using computer keyboard. An user will have special graphical interfaces at disposal, which will enable to enter as well as viewing the data to be collected. To develop such a PDA system first a requirements analysis, which will include a description of an actual company information flow, next a description of system functions as well as a project of the target database is needed. The paper presents these aspects of establishing a software system for production data acquisition.
