In the contribution, the process-based orientation of an enterprise has been defined and four main dimensions of the process-based orientation have been proposed and characterized: the processes, the education of the workers, the culture of the organization and the customer. The starting point of the considerations was a review of definitions of the concept of process-based orientation.

In the article the problem of process-based orientation of an enterprise is defined. Modern methods and conceptions of process-oriented management have been the starting point of the considerations. The traditional enterprise is compared with a process-oriented enterprise and the main differences between them are presented.
