W artykule pojęto próbę zaprezentowania profilu menedżera procesu z perspektywy koncepcji zarządzania procesami. Wskazano na związek pomiędzy dojrzałością procesową, a autentycznością stanowiska menedżera procesu. Na podstawie przeglądu literatury przedmiotu oraz wyników badań własnych przedstawiono problemy towarzyszące wyznaczaniu i funkcjonowaniu menedżerów procesów. Ponadto wskazano na działania, jakie powinny być podjęte w odniesieniu do tworzenia takich stanowisk organizacyjnych tak, aby w pełni wydobyć atuty orientacji procesowej.

In the paper attempt of the presentation of the process manager from the perspective of process management concept has been made. Connection between process maturity and authenticity of the position of process manager was pointed out. Based on literature review and results of undertaken surveys, problems associated with determining of process managers and they functioning has been presented. Furthermore, activities that should be taken to create this positions to fully bring out the advantages of process orientation, has been shown.

On the basis of surveys carried out among businesses of the Podkarpacie province, the authors demonstrate that an appointment of a process manager changes the way a business operates. The changes affect the organisational structure, roles and responsibilities and - consequently - the corporate culture. Process managers are the managers of tomorrow, who have the aptitude and organisational authority for effective and efficacious enhancement of business processes
