The software implementation of the analytic way of research on dynamics in logistics processes

In the paper the analytic model of logistics processes dynamics consideration is formulated and precisely described. Generally, the matter of logistics processes dynamics is considered as trend estimation. However, in opinion of the paper author, more accurate data compiling and elaborating is needed. Such data processing presented in the paper can allow a better understanding of any logistics or production process both in qualitative and quantitative way. In the next chapter of the paper implementation of the analytic model of logistics processes dynamics is described. After describing the implementation of the model into the software, the example results are presented and discussed (both in qualitative and quantitative representation). In the paper it is also underlined that other kinds of processes (not only logistics or production processes) can be studied with the presented model e.g. research on track quality indicator which is described by no-logistics kind of processes. Therefore the model will be used in this purpose in future projects, not only connected to pure or applied logistics. The limitation of the research and future directions that can be further developed are also given in the paper.

W artykule sformułowano i, z odpowiednią dozą szczegółowości, opisano analityczny model badania dynamiki procesów logistycznych. Generalnie rzecz ujmując, kwestia rozpatrywania dynamiki procesów logistycznych jest sprowadzana do estymacji trendów zmian. Jednak w opinii autora artykułu, wskazane są w tym celu bardziej dokładne metody i sposoby opracowania danych. Sposób analizy danych przedstawiony w artykule może pozwolić na lepsze zrozumienie dowolnego procesu logistycznego lub produkcyjnego, zarówno w zakresie jego rozważania w ujęciu jakościowym jak i ilościowym. Po opisaniu implementacji modelu do oprogramowania, przedstawiane i omówione zostały przykładowe wyniki (zarówno w reprezentacji jakościowej jak i ilościowej). W artykule zostało szczególnie podkreślone, że inne rodzaje procesów (nie tylko logistyczne i produkcyjne) mogą być badane z wykorzystaniem prezentowanego modelu. Dotyczy to np. badania wskaźnika jakości toru. Stąd też model będzie stosowany w przyszłych projektach, związanych nie tylko z logistyką „czystą” lub stosowaną. Ograniczenia i przyszłe kierunki badań podane są w artykule.

On Flow-Altering Countermeasures for Scour at Vertical-Wall Abutment

Results are presented for clear-water scour experiments at a vertical-wall abutment where the obstacle was modified with slots or roughening elements as flow-altering countermeasures against the erosion process. The laboratory campaign comprehended an initial experiment with an unprotected obstacle, two experiments with slots above and beneath the non-scoured bed level, respectively, and one experiment with a roughened abutment. The repeatability of the experiments was checked and found satisfactory. The measured data set consisted of (i) scour depth with time; (ii) geometry of the erosion hole; and (iii) sediment motion pattern at several evolution stages of the process. A novel feature of the work was the attempt to combine evidence on the scour depth and that on sediment motion so as to shed light on the mechanism of scour reduction by the countermeasures tested. It is argued that this strategy might furnish guidelines for future extensive investigations of scour countermeasures, aimed at finding optimal design solutions.
