Content available remote Implementation of real time image convolutions in FPGA structures

In this paper different architectures for real time image constant coefficients convolutions will be considered. Accordingly, Look-Up Table (LUT) based Multiplication/Convolution, Lut based Distributed Arithmetic Convolution and Multiplierless Convolution (MC) implementations into FPGA structures has been investigated. In a result, the choice between these architectures depends on given coefficients values, however in most cases the MC preferable. Furthermore the change of coeffcient values in real time systems is also considered.

Content available remote Hadamard method for image compression implemented in FPGA structure

The article presents the subjects associated with the video image compression in real-time. The author focused in particular on the definition of the requirements imposed by the applied compression algorithms in respect of computational potential and presentation of modern techniques necessary to meet these requirements. The analysis refers to the compression algorithm basing on Hadamard method. It shoes the possibilities connected with the application of programmable FPGA chips of big capacities. There are also present examples of the realisation of the components of the hardware implementation of the compression algorithms. Moreover the article includes a short characteristics of time requirements as regards the image compression degree testing and its quality for the applied Hadamard method are included as well. The works have been financed by the Polish Scientific Research Committee.
