Prizes are currently perceived as a alternative, Iow-cost solution for stimulating innovative solutions I many areas of technology and social life. They are also gaining attention of business entrepreneurs who perceive them as a potential innovation in business models that can only be compared in importance to what the Internet did for telecommunications. Each prize system has to consider the practical challenges of administering prizes. Innovation prizes are not a for the costly, painstaking research and development, but companies find them a relatively Iow-cost way to generale potentially valuable ideas from around the world. They also appear the only solution for dealing with social problems and being used by government agencies for the development of social innovations.

W dniach 26-28 września 2007 roku odbyła się w Kielcach XIII edycja Międzynarodowych Targów Technologii dla Odlewnictwa METAL 2007. Tradycyjnie jak co roku podczas wieczornej Gali zostały wręczone nagrody, wyróżnienia i medale Targów METAL za innowacyjne wyroby,. maszyny i urządzenia oraz za aranżację stoiska targowego. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały firmy oraz wyroby i maszyny, oraz stoiska które w tym roku otrzymały nagrody.

In the days from 26 to 28 September 2007 took place in Kielce XIII International Technological Trade Fair for Foundries METAL 2007. Traditionally, as each year, during the Evening Gala were handed prizes, distinctions and medals of the Fair METAL 2007 for the innovational products, machines and equipment as well as for organization of the fair stands. In the article were presented firms, products and machines as well as stands prize-winner in this year.

W ciągu 42 lat istnienia Międzynarodowej Asocjacji Geologii Inżynierskiej i Środowiska - IAEG odbyło się 10 Światowych kongresów. W pracy przeanalizowano i podsumowano tematykę tych kongresów. Przedstawiono również inne formy aktywności asocjacji.

10 International Congresses have been held during the 42 years existence of the IAEG. The scientific themes covered at the various congresses are summarized in this paper and the other activities are briefly described.
