In a paper the results of effect the developed making technology on the antifriction properties of new bearings on the nickel alloy EP975-based composite materials with solid lubricant CaF2 additions for high speed printing equipment have been presented. Paper summarizes the formation of new materials’ structure and antifriction properties after new manufacture technology using. It was shown the efficiency of developed making technology for bearings that is confirmed by the results of industrial tests. The results of new composite material’s tribotechnical properties in a comparison with known nickel composite have been presented. Full-scale industrial tests of the new composite bearing materials in friction units of printing machines have been conducted. Visual inspection and measurement of surface roughness show that the contact surfaces of bearings are not damaged, have high quality, and are usable. Industrial tests of ЕP975–CaF2 bearings showed increase in wear resistance by a factor of 3.2 – 6.0 compared with known bearings.

Podczas dorocznej konferencji prasowej Stowarzyszenia Niemieckich Producentów Maszyn i Urządzeń dla Przemystów Papierniczego i Poligraficznego (VDMA) stwierdzono, że liczba zamówień z przemysłu papierniczego zmniejszyła się o 4% w stosunku do 2011 r., natomiast w przypadku wyposażenia drukarń zanotowano wzrost o 10%, a maszyn do przetwórstwa papieru - o 7%.

There are many factors in offset printing technique, which determine the final quality of the printouts. Next to ink, dampening liquid and paper properties, significant role plays here construction of printing unit and its technical condition. Many works, where problem of vibrations was investigated, point canals in plate and blanket cylinders as source of vibrational excitation in printing unit. The canals may generate vibrations of inking and dampening rollers, as well cylinders themselves. If wear of bearings, looseness and unbalance of rotating cylinders and rollers will be additionally taken into account, there may be expected, that excited vibrations will seriously influence on the results obtained during printing process. Some undesired artifacts, for instance, cross stripes may be noticeable on the prints then. The main scope of the researches presented in this paper was to find relation between vibrations in offset printing unit and their influence on quality of the printed image. For this purpose, while printing, measurements of vibrations of printing unit have been made. Afterwards printed test image have been precisely analyzed in search of undesired phenomena, which can be an effect of excessive vibrations in printing unit. Then comparison between position of the artifacts on the prints and the results of vibration measurements has been made. Effects of the experiment are presented in this paper.

In the early nineteenth century bookbinding work was done by traditional craftsmen’s methods. Workshop equipment and technology has not developed from the late Renaissance. In the nineteenth century new equipment and machinery were built to speed up the process o binding books and to allow larger runs. New technologies have led to changes in work organization and the creation of larger plants. The process of bookbinding mechanization in Poland was based mainly on German equipment and proceeded with a slight delay from the German bookbinding. Due to the small market orders, only a few binding workshops developed into medium or small factories. Bookbinding works were also created by printers and publishers. Full conversion of the bookbinding from outwork into the industry took place after World War II in the state binderies, which are now branches of printing plants.

The most important units of sheet-fed offset printing machine, like the ink and dampening systems as well as a printing unit, are composed, in the main, of contacting rollers of various sizes (in case of the printing unit they are named cylinders). Adequate setting of the said rollers is very important, because it has big influence on quality of print-outs. The settings are made experimentally by measuring the width of the contact area in the ink and dampening systems or by computing the clamp parameters – in the printing unit. This paper includes analysis of compression of two rollers depending on a width of the contact area, radiuses of the rollers as well as their Poisson’s ratios and Young’s modules.

Omówiono rodzaje technologii zabezpieczeń stosowanych podczas produkcji papierów wartościowych, tj. w fazie wytwarzania papieru, w procesie druku oraz aplikowania na półprodukt. Podkreślono celowość zastosowania kombinacji znanych technik druku, takich jak offset, wklęsłodruk, typografia i sitodruk. Maszyny i urządzenia stosowane przy produkcji papierów wartościowych są dość rozbudowane i nieco odmienne od maszyn standardowych. Przedstawiono budowę nowoczesnych złożonych zespołów maszyn drukujących i ich wyposażenie.

The article shows protection technologies used in the production process of security papers, i.e. paper manufacturing, printing, application on semi semi-finished products. The author stresses the usefulness of combination of available printing techniques such as the offset, gravure, typography and screen print. Machinery and equipment used in the production of security papers are quite complex and different from standard machines. The article also describes the construction of modern printing machines and their equipment.

Analiza przyczyn zakłóceń w części stałej i mokrej maszyny papierniczej wpływających na jakość papieru i niezawodność stanowi w papierniach ciągle aktualny temat. Coraz więcej uwagi poświęca się też możliwościom uproszczenia tych instalacji i zmniejszenia kosztów ich eksploatacji. W wielu papierniach udało się to już częściowo osiągnąć, m.in. dzięki zmniejszeniu objętości lub nawet wyeliminowaniu zbiorników i kadzi wykorzystywanych w transporcie oraz obróbce masy włóknistej i wody podsitowej.

The analysis of the reasons for which the upsets in the approach and wet parts of the paper machine are arising and influence on the quality of paper and on the runnability of the machine are always the topical issues in the paper mills. More and more attention is being paid to the possibilities of simplification of the Installations and to cutting down the costs of their exploitation. In many paper mills this' aim has been partly achieved, among others thanks to decreasing the capacity or even elimination of the tanks and vats used for handling and treatment of the paper stock and white water.
