Paintings inevitably bear severe mechanical loads during transportation.Understanding the dynamic characteristics of paintings helps to avoid damage during transportation and to effectively slow down their aging.In this contribution, the vibration characteristics of canvas and primed canvas of paintings and their influencing factors are studied experimentally.For this reason, two dummy paintings with canvas in a common orientation and a tilted orientation are investigated, and an experimental setup using an excitation mechanism and a laser Doppler vibrometer is developed.In order to avoid changes of the modal parameters related to humidity or temperature, all experiments were conducted in a climate box.The modal parameters of dummy paintings are identified by means of experimental modal analysis.Also, the difference in modal properties of the two dummy paintings before and after applying the primer are compared.The identified modal parameters are used to reconstruct their eigenmodes.From the identified modal parameters a numerical model is derived, which is then compared to measurements.The comparison shows a good agreement, hence is a hint for the correctness of assuming a modal structure and the quality of the modal parameter identification.Lastly, with the help of the climate box, the influences of humidity and temperature on the eigenfrequencies of dummy paintings are studied.

The article presents the results of research on the use of RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) molecular primers, linked to the sign of fiber content in the stems of flax. The main purpose of the research is to identify genetic polymorphism based on the fiber content, inter- and intraspecific genetic relationships between domestic and foreign flax varieties and hybrids. Realization of this aim will allow the number of tasks: 1) to increase the possibilities for successfully identify flax varieties and hybrids, 2) group the breeding material according to its genetic affinity, which will optimize the selection of pairs for crossing, 3) it is better to integrate traditional breeding methods (hybridization, selection, mutagenesis) with molecular biology methods for creation flax varieties with specified parameters of valuable economic traits and, as a consequence, to make selection most successful. 24 varieties and hybrids of flax were investigated using the method of polymerase chain reaction and separation of DNA fragments by gel electrophoresis. A small number of loci on electrophoregrams were detected, which indicates a small affinity of the selection material, which was also confirmed by the use of cluster analysis.

Bezpośrednie drukowanie odzieży zapewnia ogromną elastyczność w projektowaniu i kolorystyce druku, a przy tym oszczędza czas i pieniądze, odpowiadając tym samym na oczekiwanie zarówno producentów, jak i konsumentów zadrukowanych tkanin i odzieży. Przyszłość drukowania na tkaninach i odzieży będzie niewątpliwie cyfrowa. W pracy zbadano jakość cyfrowego nadruku na białych koszulkach bawełnianych. Nadruk wykonano za pomocą drukarki natryskowej do bezpośredniego drukowania na odzieży Brother GTXpro. Oceniono jakość i odporność nadruku na proces wielokrotnego prania. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że trwałość nadruku na koszulkach jest uzależniona od ilości użytej farby i odpowiedniego zagruntowania materiału przed nadrukiem.

Direct garment printing provides great flexibility in design and colors, and at the same time saves time and money, thus meeting the expectations of both producers and consumers of printed fabrics and clothing. The future of textile and garment printing will undoubtedly be digital. The study examined the quality of digital printing on white cotton T-shirts. The print was made with ink-jet garment printer, the Brother GTXpro. The resistance of the print was tested by the process of multiple washings. The conducted research has shown that the durability of the print on T-shirts depends on the amount of paint used and the appropriate priming of the material.

W artykule przeanalizowano wpływ dodatku włókien polipropylenowych do środka gruntującego na wytrzymałość na odrywanie powłoki z żywicy epoksydowej. Włókna dodawano do środka gruntującego w ilości 0,5; 1; 1,5 i 2% w stosunku do masy żywicy epoksydowej z utwardzaczem. Zmodyfikowany środek gruntujący naniesiono na podkład z zaprawy cementowej, a następnie nałożono powłokę. Uzyskane wyniki badań porównano z powłoką referencyjną na podkładzie zagruntowanym środkiem bez dodatku włókien. Na podstawie badań zaobserwowano wzrost wytrzymałości na odrywanie powłoki na podkładzie pokrytym środkiem gruntującym z dodatkiem 0,5 oraz 1% włókien polipropylenowych, w stosunku do powłoki referencyjnej.

The article presents an analysis of the addition of polypropylene fibers to the bonding agent on the pull-off strength of coating made of epoxy resin. The fibers were added to the bonding agent in an amount of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2% in relation to mass of the epoxy resin. The modified bonding agent was laid on substrate made of cement mortar and then the coating was laid. The obtained results were confirmed with the reference coating – without the addition of polypropylene fibers to the bonding agent. Based on the obtained results the increase of the pull-off strength of coatin made with the addition of 0.5 and 1% of polypropylene fibers to the bonding agent in relation the reference coating.

Tetrazene (1-amino-1(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-azo-guanidine hydrate) is widely used in ordnance systems as a sensitizer of primer mixes for use in both percussion and stab applications. It has low thermal and hydrolytic stability compared with other components of primer mixes and there currently exists the need for a replacement with enhanced stability characteristics. MTX-1 (1-[(2E)- 3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)triaz-2-en-1-ylidene]methanediamine) meets these criteria and shows great promise as a tetrazene replacement. Preliminary testing of this material has confirmed that MTX-1 has safety and performance properties which are similar to tetrazene and has chemical characteristics, including thermal and hydrolytic stability, which exceed those of tetrazene. MTX-1 has been successfully evaluated against tetrazene in a variety of chemical/output tests, including comparative testing in the PVU-12 primer.

ANFO is the most common explosive for civil use in the fields of mining and civil engineering. Some properties of ANFO, like poor water resistance, low density and low velocity of detonation can be improved by mixing ANFO with a certain percentage of an emulsion. These explosives are called Heavy ANFO blends. This paper presents a study of the influence of a primer on the velocity of detonation of ANFO and Heavy ANFO blends. Three types of primers were used for the initiation of the explosives and the velocity of detonation was measured in situ by a continuous method. Based on the results of these measurements, the relationship between the detonation velocity of the primer used and the detonation velocity of the primed explosive were established.

W artykule przedstawiono fundamentalne obliczenia analityczne w zakresie inicjacji elektrycznej spłonki pobudzającej M-100 na podstawie danych katalogowych jednego z producentów. Przedstawiono również kompleksową analizę podatności spłonki M-100 na elektryczność statyczną, której źródłem jest człowiek. Dokonano uogólnienia popularnego wzoru na energię zapłonu z uwzględnieniem strat czynnych obwodu strzałowego. Dodatkowo przedstawiono wyprowadzenia innych, szczególnych postaci wzorów wraz z przykładami ich użycia. Z uwagi na skąpą, fragmentaryczną i chaotyczną dostępną wiedzę na temat obliczeń warunków pobudzenia elektrycznego spłonek elektrycznych z tzw. „gorącym mostkiem oporowym” (HBW, ang. Hot BridgeWire), starano się uporządkować i zaprezentować w sposób przejrzysty stosowany w praktyce aparat matematyczny wraz z wyprowadzeniami wzorów, komentarzem i fachową terminologią.

The paper presents fundamental analytical calculations for the electrical initiation of M-100 electrodetonator based on the catalogue data of a producer. The comprehensive analysis of the M-100 electrodetonator vulnerability to the static electricity originating from the human body is also presented. The generalization of the popular formula for igniting energy regarding the real losses of energy in fire circuit was made. Additionally the derivations of other particular forms of formulas with examples of use are shown. Due to the poor, fragmentary and chaotic available knowledge upon calculations of conditions of electrical initiation of electrodetonators with so called Hot Bridge Wire (HBW) an effort towards a proper arrangement and clear presentation of the commonly used mathematical apparatus along with derivation of formulas, comments and special terminology was made.

W niniejszym artykule przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą wytrzymałości połączeń klejowych blach ocynkowanych bez stosowania primerów oraz z ich zastosowaniem, przy użyciu tego samego kleju. Zastosowanie tej operacji specjalnej, jako jednego z etapu technologii klejenia, wynika z trudności, jakie wykazują powierzchnie cynkowe w ich łączeniu. Taki sposób przygotowania powierzchni w istotny sposób wpłynie na wzrost wytrzymałości połączeń klejowych blach ocynkowanych.

In this paper a comparative analysis of zinc coated sheets bonding joints strength with and without the use of primer was carried out. The same adhesive was used during these tests. This special treatment was applied as one of technology stages because of difficulties in zinc surface joining. Such a surface treatment will noticeably increase the strength of zinc coating bonding joints.
