Statistical data on occupational diseases registered by the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Łódź indicates a renewed increase in the number of pneumoconiosis in Poland in recent years, especially in the section of PKD (Polish Classification of Business Activities) – mining. Simultaneously, in 2018, because of the implementation of Directives of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, changes were introduced to Polish legislation in the field of protection of workers against the risk of exposure to carcinogens or mutagens related to the respirable fraction of crystalline silica formed during work. Considering this information, the members of the Department of Safety Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology attempted to assess the dust hazard and the frequency of occurrence of respiratory diseases among the employees of the preparation plant of mine X exposed to the harmful effects of industrial dust produced in the work process. The following methods were used as part of the research: individual dosimetry, infrared spectrometry, directional interview, diagnostic tests, and spirometry. The obtained results made it possible to identify workstations with the highest exposure to the harmful effects of industrial dust and to recognize the impact of this action in the form of pathological changes in the respiratory system in 18.4% of the miners surveyed

W artykule przedstawiono techniczne i technologiczne uwarunkowania stosowania popiołomierzy ciągłych w zakładach przeróbki mechanicznej węgla. Zwrócono uwagę na istotne, z punktu widzenia pomiarowego, wymagania dla poszczególnych typów urządzeń.

The technical and technological conditionings of use of the ash meters for on-line monitoring in preparation plants have been presented in the paper. It has been paid attention to the requirements for respective types of devices which are crucial from the point of view of measurements.

Prześledzono zmiany składu petrograficznego węgla koksowego w procesie przeróbczym kopalni Pniówek (SW część GZW), tj. od nadawy do węgla handlowego. Przeanalizowano wszystkie linie produkcyjne, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem newralgicznych punktów, w których zaistniała możliwość zmiany składu petrograficznego węgla koksowego. Wskazano na celowość i możliwość wykorzystania w praktyce wyników badań.

Changes of petrographic composition of coking coal in preparation process of "Pniówek" coal mine (SW part of USCB) were investigated, there is from raw coal to commercial coal. Ali of production lines were analyzed, focusing on questionable points, where the change in the petrographic composition of coking coal. Purposefulness and application of the studies were shown.

W referacie przedstawiono wyniki analizy wypadków zaistniałych w dziesięciu latach, w zakładach przeróbki mechanicznej siedmiu kopalń węgla kamiennego. W analizowanym okresie zarejestrowano łącznie dwieście trzydzieści siedem wypadków.

The results of a comparison analysis of accidents that existed in ten mineral processing plants of seven coal mines are presented in the paper. In the analyzed 10-year period a total number of 237 accidents was recorded.
