Artykuł obejmuje wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 8 gminach Powiatu Wadowickiego w celu określenia form zarządzania logistyczno- marketingowego agroturystyką przez władze lokalne. Wyniki ukazały, że badane gminy wspierają rozwój agroturystyki głównie w promocji, organizacji szkoleń agroturystycznych oraz we współpracy ze stowarzyszeniami agroturystycznymi i ośrodkami doradztwa rolniczego. Wśród przedsięwzięć i celów strategicznych związanych z rozwojem agroturystyki w przyszłości, respondenci najczęściej wymieniali promocję agroturystyki i zwiększenie jej oferty.

The article presents the results of surveys carried out in eight communities of the Wadowice County in order to determine the forms of logistics and marketing management in agritourism by local authorities. The results showed, that tested communities support agritourism mainly in promotion, agritourism trainings organization and in the cooperation with agritorusim associations and agricultural advisory centres. Among undertakings and strategic aims connected with agritourism development in the future the respondents the most often listed agritourism promotion and the increase its offer.

The aim of this work is to demonstrate the great significance of a (water) reservoir as one of the factors influencing the increase of competitiveness of Wadowice district, especially the selected towns of the district such as Wadowice, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and Lanckorona. In the context of creating the conditions and the environment to acquire a competitive advantage by the region, it seems to be justifiable that the Reservoir Świnna Poręba can be considered as a very attractive "megaproduct" of the region, and consequently as the factor increasing competitiveness of Wadowice district. The area and economic implications can have crucial importance to development of the towns close to the region of the future artificial lake. The potential advantages of the Reservoir Świnna Poręba, which is now under construction, can enrich significantly the offer of services and goods of Wadowice district, hence the reservoir can be an important element that strengthens the competitiveness of this district, particularly the its selected towns such as Wadowice, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and Lanckorona. The marketing strategy and the regional promotion is directed precisely at the specific investment targets and based on the cultural and economic values of the mentioned towns combined with the merits Reservoir Świnna Poręba. The project is the common offer of local government and the local community, and seems to be the most effective "way" generating the increase of competitiveness of Wadowice district. Assuming that a competitiveness level of a specific town or region depends remarkably on the attractiveness of its offer, it seems to be natural to aim at creating such a marketing strategy that will consist of the most complex goods and services. The firm pro-development increase of a reservoir on a town situated in its direct sphere of influence seems to be confirmed by the investments already undertaken, for example in Poland - the Reservoir Żywiec, and in Europe - Gabczikowo in Slovakia.
