Zaproponowane urządzenie do badania topliwości popiołu węgla kamiennego pracuje w układzie z mostkiem typu „H” wraz z transformatorem dopasowującym, po stronie wtórnej dostrojonym do częstotliwości rezonansu szeregowego obciążenia wykonanego z rurki miedzianej stanowiącej wzbudnik indukcyjny połączony szeregowo z baterią kondensatorów. Wewnątrz wzbudnika znajduje się umieszczona poziomo odizolowana termicznie rura grafitowa stanowiąca komorę roboczą. Temperaturę płynięcia popiołu określa się na podstawie wizualnej oceny zmian konturów badanej próbki obserwowanych na siatce pomiarowej.

The proposed device for testing the hard coal ash fusibility works in a system with the "H" bridge together with the matching transformer, on the secondary side tuned to the resonance frequency of the series load made of a copper tube constituting an induction coil connected in series with the capacitor bank. There is a horizontally thermally insulated graphite tube inside the work coil, which is a working chamber. The ash flow temperature is determined on the basis of a visual evaluation of changes in the contours of the test sample observed on the measuring grid.

Ethylene/a-olefin copolymers (M < 20 000) (PEAOP) were studied as depressants and viscosity improvers, at concentrations of 0.5 and 1% by wt., in (a) industrial oil I—20A and (b) motor oil M-11. The pour points of the oils fell (a) by 15°C and 25°C, and (b) by 6°C and 10°C, respectively. Slovenian Viskocryl-100 was found to be equivalent and superior to the copolymer additive as depressant for the I-20A and the M-11, respectively (Table 2). Russian PMA-D was inferior as depressant. Kinematic viscosity and viscosity index of the oils were studied in relation to additive content (Table 3).
