Polskie drobiarstwo od lat umacnia swoją pozycję na rynku krajowym i unijnym. W latach 2000-2014 produkcja mięsa drobiowego w Polsce wzrosła ponad trzykrotnie do prawie 1,9 mln t, tym samym nasz kraj stał się jednym z głównych jego producentów w UE. Taki rozwój sektora był w znacznym stopniu efektem dostosowań, jakie przeszła polska branża drobiarska w związku z integracją z Unią Europejską. Nastąpiły korzystne zmiany strukturalne, umożliwiające powstanie nowoczesnego sektora drobiarskiego, wytwarzającego wysokiej jakości produkty, które szybko zdobyły rynek europejski. Obecnie Polska jest drugim eksporterem drobiu w Unii Europejskiej.

Polish poultry sector has strengthened the position in the domestic market and in the EU market for many years. In the period of 2000-2014, the production of poultry meat in Poland increased more than three times to almost 1.9 million tons, thereby advancing our country to the main producers of this meat in the EU. The mentioned development of the sector resulted from the adjustments of the Polish poultry sector to the EU requirements in connection with the integration with the European Union. There have been favorable structural changes, enabling the emergence of the modern poultry industry, producing high quality products, which won quickly the European market. Currently, Poland is the second exporter of poultry in the European Union.

Podstawowe problemy integracyjne polskiego drobiarstwa - zdaniem autorów - to: procesy przystosowawcze do wymogów i standardów unijnych, konkurencyjność cenowa, jakościowa i marketingowa sektora drobiarskiego na rynku unijnym i zewnętrznym oraz organizacja branży drobiarskiej w Polsce. Podmioty, które pomyślnie zakończą procesy dostosowawcze, będą w stanie, w ciągu kilku lat od akcesji, zbudować pozycję konkurencyjną na rozszerzonym rynku Wspólnoty oraz w eksporcie poza UE.

The authors considered the problems related to the accession itself, i.e. adjusting to the EU regulations and standards; price, quality and marketing competitiveness of Polish poultry sector in both the EU and foreign markets as well as organization of the poultry sector in Poland, to be the main integration problems. The authors concluded that units, which will terminate adjustment processes successfully would be able to build their competitive posi-tion in the enlarged Community market and beneficially export outside the EU in few years time after the accession.
