Faults and zones of fractures in the rocks constituting the Carpathian Flysh are usually associated with the areas of higher water-bearingness and prospected as such. Predicting of the localization and position of such zones is difficult, considering first of all a complicated structure and strong anisotropy of the flysh complex. The authors have discussed here the possibilities offered by three geophysical methods: seismic and geoelectrical ones as well as radon concentration measurements. Each of them may be applied separately but the best results can be obtained using all three of them simultaneously as complementary investigations. Such a study has been carried out in the vicinity of Jeleśnia near Żywiec, where the position of a substantial overthrust in the Carpathian Flysh has been delineated with all these methods.
