The main goal of the article is to describe the results of the case study on the design of an alternative variant of a post-tensioned concrete motorway viaduct, located in one of the most important motorway junctions in Poland. The study included the design of the viaduct's supporting structure (at the level of the technical design, with the output parameters of the existing structure), based on the currently applicable regulations, and a comparative analysis of the existing structure with the alternative variant. The analyses carried out confirmed the feasibility of the proposed variant, indicating the necessary works enabling the construction of a new structure on the rebuilt supports. The conclusions contain practical references regarding the potential replacement, if necessary, of the existing supporting structure with the alternative variant.

W artykule opisano wyniki prac studialnych dotyczących alternatywnego projektu kablobetonowego wiaduktu autostradowego, usytuowanego w jednym z najważniejszych węzłów autostradowych w Polsce. Prace te obejmowały zaprojektowanie konstrukcji nośnej wiaduktu (na poziomie projektu technicznego, o parametrach wyjściowych już istniejącej konstrukcji), na podstawie obecnie obowiązujących przepisów, wraz z analizą porównawczą istniejącej konstrukcji z wariantem alternatywnym. Przeprowadzone analizy potwierdziły realność zaproponowanego wariantu ze wskazaniem niezbędnych prac umożliwiających budowę nowej konstrukcji na przebudowanych podporach. Wnioski zawierają praktyczne odniesienie dotyczące potencjalnej zamiany, w razie potrzeby, istniejącej konstrukcji nośnej na wariant alternatywny.
