Position of a ship is usually given as a pair of numbers representing latitude an longitude. The exact fix is known only either when the ship informs us about her position or when she is observed by a recon plane, a satellite or another ship. When the contact is lost the position uncertainty is growing with time. The presented method allows to determine all possible positions of the ship after time t. The algorithm works well for open seas as well as for closed areas even if the straights appear. The output is a set of possible positions which can be used for further computations or presented graphically.
