This paper presents the results of the research on the imroved cryopump constructed on the basic of a two stage Gifford-McMahon refrigerator. The cryopump system without the screen of the second step element reached the pumping speed 4 m3/s for nitrogen and 0.8 m3/s for hydrogen. The effective pumping speed there are 1.5 m3/s and 0.75 m3/s respectively. The system make possible to reach the range of pressure 10-11 mbar during some hours of pumping.
The paper presents methods and results of the optimization of construction of Gifford-McMahon`s refrigerator. The optimized cooling system has the following parameters: final temperature 12 K, 2 nd stage refrigeration power 2.3 W at 20K, cooling speed dT/dt=13.6 K/s.
