The impellers of multistage pumps has lower suction performance. To improve pumps suction performance was designed helical inducer. The flow field behind inducer was changed and it was different from normal inlet flow to impeller. This paper described a numerical investigations the influence of changeable flow field behind inducer on suction performance centrifugal impeller. In the results changeable inlets flow was increased require net positive suction head. It was caused by higher relative velocity of flow and small attack angle, so the cavitations bubble was formed inside blade channel. Cavitations bubble in this area more disturbed flow throw impeller and brought to quickly brake dawn cavitations curves.

The influence of flow field on suction performance in the impeller of multistage pump The impellers of multistage pumps has lower suction performance. It is caused by higher inlet flow. Because eye of the impeller is reduced by the big diameters shaft. This paper describes a numerical investigations a fields of flow in the impeller of multistage pumps. The 3D numerical solution was calculated by using CFD code. Geometry was assembled with a suction pipe, the centrifugal impeller and a vaned diffuser. The investigation was made for nominal flow rate and another. The results are showed as a distributions of pressure and velocity in characteristic section. The authors wanted answer the question: why the fields of flow in all blades channels are different? Displayed a back influence of vaned diffuser channel on a distribution of pressure in the centrifugal impeller.
