W artykule przedstawiono eksperymentalne badania hydrodynamiki transportu cieczy w pompach aeracyjnych. Autorzy opisali zasadę działania takich układów pompowych, przybliżyli ich główne zastosowania oraz wskazali na wady i zalety typowych aplikacji technicznych. W pracy opisane zostało również stanowisko eksperymentalne z osprzętem pomiarowych i torem optycznym do badań wizualizacyjnych oraz przedstawiono metodykę prowadzonych badań. Zastosowana metodyka, zakładała określenie korelacji wydajności transportu pionowego cieczy z rodzajem układu zasilającego. Autorzy wprowadzili do opisu hydrodynamiki pracy pompy aeracyjnej parametr rozbieżności dystrybucyjnej umożliwiający bezpośrednie porównanie wydajności danej pompy aeracyjnej w różnych konfiguracjach układów zasilania.

In the paper an experimental study of hydrodynamics of liquid transport in an air-lift pumps was presented. Authors the principle of operation in this pumping systems and the main application with the advantages and disadvantages of typical engineering applications were described. Also in the work the experimental stand with measurement hardware, dedicated for visualization research an optical path and the used methodology were presented. Methodology the correlation performance of the vertical liquid transport with the type of supply system was assumed. Distribution divergence parameter to describing the hydrodynamics of the air-lift pump was introduced by the authors. This parameter may allow the direct comparison of the efficiency of air-lift pumps in various configurations of supply systems.

The paper contains the use of Digital Particle Image Velocimetry for describing limit velocity in bubble and plug flow. Moreover in the article development of air-bubble model was proposed. This model make describing of plug structure evolution possible.

W artykule przedstawiono badania indukowanego przepływu dwufazowego w pompie aeracyjnej z wykorzystaniem technik wizualizacyj-nych. W pracy opisano zjawiska zaburzeń spadku ciśnienia podczas indukowanego przepływu dwufazowego gaz — ciecz w systemach typu air-lift. Autorzy zaproponowali także nowy wektorowy model oceny stabilizacji przepływu.

The experimental research of induced two-phase flow in an air-lift pump with the use of visualization technique is presented in the paper. Phenomena dealing with pressure drop disturbances during induced gas — liquid flow in air-lift systems are described. Authors of the paper also proposed a new method for flow stability estimation.

The paper contains an evaluation of efficiency of air-lift pump operation. In the current paper the use of digital image processing and the measurements of pressure fall are correlated. On the basis of the resulting relationship an optimization method is defined. The article also describes two-phase flow structures during air-lift pump flow. The structures are collected in the form of the empirical flow regime map.
