Thermal processing of waste plastics is promising solution in waste management. In particular, in such a variant which yields liquid products usable in the production of liquid fuels. In industrial scale this technology is under development mainly in Poland. There are two dominant methods: the decomposition of polyolefins with the addition of catalysts [1-4], and on the other hand, the decomposition of the polymer-solvent systems known as technological oils [5-8]. The first method allows one to obtain solidifying oil with the high content of non-saturated hydrocarbons (in industrial process usually ca. 40-60%). In the second method polyolefms are blended with technological oils to be destructed in the mild conditions.

Jednym z obiecujących sposobów rozwiązania problemu odpadów z tworzyw sztucznych jest ich obróbka cieplna, w taki sposób by z płynnych produktów odpadowych otrzymywać paliwo samochodowe. Istnieją dwie podstawowe metody: rozkład poliolefin z dodatkiem katalizatorów, druga metoda polega na zastosowaniu rozpuszczalników w postaci olejów technicznych.
