In this research work, the authors carried out a comparative analysis of the influence of the presence of two different systems of nano-additives on the structure and properties of PAN nanocomposite fibers. The system containing two ceramic nano-additives nano-hydroxyapatite and montmorillonite (HAp+MMT) and a complex system of a ceramic nano-hydroxyapatite and a metallic (silver) nano-additive (HAp+silver) were used and investigated. The fibers containing both systems of nano-additives are characterized by increased porosity together with a tenacity of 30 cN/tex, what is suitable for conducting the carbonization process. Using SEM+EDS method, the uniformity of distribution of nano-additives on the fiber surface of PAN nanocomposite fibers was found. The presence of active nanoparticles in the fiber matter of these PAN fibers makes them well-suitable for manufacturing carbon fibers for medical applications.
