W artykule omówione zostały perspektywy rozwojowe przedsiębiorstw transportowych, które obecnie funkcjonują na rynku. Przedstawione zostały szanse rozwojowe związane z sytuacją polskiej gospodarki jak i gospodarki Unii Europejskiej. Przedsiębiorstwo transportowe oznacza osobę fizyczną, osobę prawną lub związek lub grupę osób nieposiadającą osobowości prawnej, niezależnie od tego, czy działa zarobkowo, lub jednostkę państwową, niezależnie od tego, czy posiada ona osobowość prawną, czy też podlega organowi posiadającemu osobowość prawną, która zarobkowo lub na potrzeby własne wykonuje przewozy drogowe. W XXI wieku rozwój technologii sprzyja w znacznym stopniu szansom rozwojowym tego typu przedsiębiorstw. Zmiany w tym zakresie odbywają się praktycznie na naszych oczach. W artykule omówione zostały zarówno kwestie związane z rozwojem informatycznym, technologicznym jak i infrastrukturalnym.

In the article developmental prospects of transport enterprises which at present are functional on the market were discussed. The developmental chances associated with the situation of the Polish economy as well as the economy were presented to the European Union. A transport enterprise means the natural person, the legal person or the connection or the without group of people of the legal personality, irrespective of, whether he is acting for money, or state-owned unit, irrespective of, whether she has a legal personality, whether is also reporting to the body having a legal personality which for money or to own needs performs cartages. In the 21st century the development of the technology is supporting developmental chances of enterprises of this type to a considerable degree. Changes in this respect take place practically before our very eyes. In the article they were discussed both the issues associated with the computer, technological as well as infrastructure development.

Artykuł zawiera charakterystykę metodologii oraz wyniki badań koniunktury w polskim ciężarowym transporcie samochodowym. Przedmiotowe badania są prowadzone w Instytucie Transportu Samochodowego w Warszawie od ponad 16 lat i dotyczą kondycji przedsiębiorstw prowadzących krajowe i międzynarodowe przewozy towarów. Badania koniunktury w transporcie stanowią jedną z metod systematycznego monitorowania i analizy bieżącej sytuacji wybranych działów gospodarki. Ich celem jest także przewidywanie kierunków zmian w odniesieniu do najbliższej przyszłości. W artykule zaprezentowano ponadto zmiany w liczebności i strukturze krajowego parku pojazdów wykorzystywanych do przewozu ładunków, tj. ciągników samochodowych siodłowych, jakie miały miejsce w ostatnich latach. Charakter tych zmian jest uwarunkowany kondycją firm przewozowych w Polsce, która z kolei jest zależna od sytuacji gospodarczej, zarówno w kraju, jak i na świecie. Badania w tym zakresie są prowadzone w Instytucie Transportu Samochodowego od początku lat 90-tych. Cykliczność i systematyczność badań daje możliwość pozyskiwania wartościowego materiału dokumentującego zachodzące procesy i obserwowane tendencje, a przez to pełnego obrazu rynku transportowego w Polsce. Takie informacje są przyczynkiem do analizy sytuacji w przedmiotowym zakresie i pozwalają na prognozowanie zmian.

The article covers characteristics of the methodology of studying business activity in the freight road transport in Poland. Such studies have been conducted at the Motor Transport Institute in Warsaw, every quarter of a year, for over 16 years now and they relate to the economic condition of the road transport enterprises, conducting domestic and international haulage of goods Studying business activity forms one of the essential methods of the systematic monitoring and analysing current situation in the selected branch of the economy. Its objective is also to anticipate the directions of changes with respect to the nearest future. The article also presents changes in the size and structure of the national fleet of semi-trailers tractors that have taken place in recent years. The nature of these changes is subject to the condition of transport companies in Poland, which in turn is dependent on the economic situation, both domestically and internationally. Motor Transport Institute since the early 90s has been studying such problems. Periodic character and regularity of the studies makes it possible to obtain valuable material documenting processes, and the observed trends, and thus a complete picture of transport market in Poland. Such information is a contribution to the analysis of the situation in this respect and allows to predict changes.
