Possibilities of applying the configurational approach to business model research

The issue of business models is a current and more and more deeply analysed field of scientific research. However, despite the requirements of a solid and comprehensive research approach, capable of capturing the multidimensionality of business models, there is a continuous dissatisfaction with the conducted empirical research in this area. The aim of the article is to present the possibility of using the configurational approach and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA) to business models research, which enables to conduct comprehensive, integrated analyses. The research was conducted on the basis of a group of 53 enterprises classified in the high-tech sector. The research provided an insight into the key and auxiliary elements of the selected business models, and the methods of their mutual interaction in the context of the configuration of these elements were monitored, at the same time providing insight into the equifinality of the configuration. The results may form the basis for a deeper discussion on the definition of business models and their core components.

In this article a technique of schedule matrices analysis for scheduling task based on the certain modifications of permanent is proposed. The proposed method of schedule construction use various configurations and representatives of their formation and algorithm based on decompozition of the permanent by line.

W artykule zaproponowano technikę analizy matryc harmonogramu dla zadania szeregowania w oparciu o pewne modyfikacje trwałe. Zaproponowana metoda budowy rozkładu wykorzystuje różne konfiguracje oraz przedstawicieli ich tworzenia i algorytmów opartych na liniowym trwałym rozkładzie.

Dla zrozumienia złożonej natury dokonań organizacji, a więc szeroko pojętej efektywności ich funkcjonowania, w literaturze prowadzone są coraz bardziej wyrafinowane badania. Osiągany poziom efektywności i możliwość przetrwania organizacji stanowią wynik skomplikowanych układów wzajemnie powiązanych współzależności, które mogą być trudne do uchwycenia za pomocą powszechnie stosowanych metod, takich jak modele regresji. Celem artykułu jest wskazania nowego sposobu analizy konfiguracji organizacyjnych, będących konstelacjami różnych typów strategii, orientacji i warunków otocznia prowadzących wspólnie do uzyskania wysokiej efektywności funkcjonowania organizacji, przez zastosowanie podejścia konfiguracyjnego i jakościowej analizy porównawczej.

In the literature for understanding the complex nature of the organization achievements, and so broadly defined performance are carried out increasingly sophisticated research. Reached the level of performance and the possibility of survival of the organization are the result of complex interconnected systems of interdependence, which may be difficult to capture using commonly employed methods, such as regression models. This paper aims to show a new way of analyzing organizational configurations, which are constellations of different types of strategies, orientations, and market conditions leading together to achieve superior performance, through the use of configuration approach and qualitative comparative analysis.
