The new vibratory conveyor, which is during patent pending [1], equipped with a single electro-vibrator intended for an accurate material dosing, was investigated in the hereby study. Possibilities of material transportations and dosing both in and out the circum-resonant zone were investigated. Dependencies of the transport velocity of the tested conveyor as functions of the excitation frequency for a certain range of load were determined. The high usefulness of the machine in the production lines requiring accurate material dosing was indicated. It was pointed out that the conveyor can transport the feed at a constant velocity, regardless of the feed mass, which is unique for the conveyors of inertial drive.

The paper presents the possibilities of operating an innovative single- vibrator-driven vibratory conveyor [1] in the vicinity of the second resonance zone. The characteristics of operation on both ascending and descending slopes are presented. The differences in the suspension deflection of the additional mass (which is a dynamic eliminator) during operation before and after the resonance were analyzed. We proposed working on the descending slope of the second resonance in order to increase the durability of the device. This is because the amplitude of the suspension deflection of the additional mass is limited and, due to its high stiffness, is exposed to material fatigue. This is an unusual method of operation for conveyors because it carries certain risks, such as the risk of the device entering resonance on its own or the problem of maintaining constant angular velocity of the unbalanced masses. This paper presents both analytical and simulation studies, which were then confirmed on a laboratory stand designed and built by the authors.

This article describes the modeling by DEM technology of damage to highbush blueberries, during transport on a reciprocating feeder. The modeled values of normal and tangential forces at the blueberry contact points were determined, and the effect of changing the mass output of the transported fruit on the values of normal and tangential forces was studied. It has been shown that the change in the mass output of blueberries does not exceed the permissible tangential and normal forces, interacting between the fruits.

W artykule opisano modelowanie technologią DEM uszkodzeń borówki wysokiej, podczas transportu na podajniku z napędem posuwisto-zwrotnym. Określono modelowe wartości sił normalnych oraz stycznych w punktach kontaktu borówki. Przeprowadzono symulacje uwzględniające wpływ zmiany wydatku masowego transportowanych owoców na wartości sił normalnych i stycznych. Wykazano, że zmiana wydatku masowego borówki nie powoduje przekroczenia dopuszczalnych sił stycznych i normalnych, oddziałujących pomiędzy owocami.

The increase of demand on corrugated board boxes is connected with a sudden increase of the number of persons who decide on the on-line purchase of goods. It is expected that FMCG sector will be the main generator of incomes for the producers of corrugated board boxes. It is anticipated that the growing demand on packaging in different sectors and boom in the e-commerce in the coming years will create the profitable possibilities of the solutions, employing corrugated cardboard packaging of fanfold type.

The new vibratory conveyor destined for the accurate dosing of materials was investigated in the present work. The possibilities of the system to transport materials in the circum-resonant zone were tested analytically, as well as by simulations. The optimal work point of the system, which allowed a decrease in the amplitude of eliminator vibrations on its suspension due to operations on the resonance slope, was determined. Transport velocities depending on the excitation frequency and feed mass were determined by simulations. The results were verified on the conveyor of industrial dimensions designed and built in accordance with the patent application.

Transport possibilities of the new vibratory conveyor in dependence on the excitation frequency of inertial vibrators were investigated in the hereby paper. The comprehensive model of the machine together with the loose feed material was tested. Simulations allowed to determine the dependence of the transport velocity on the excitation frequency. The time needed for a sudden stopping of the transport was also investigated. The new controlling strategy, realised by means of the excitation frequency, was proposed for situations when there is a necessity of sudden stopping of the transport.

This article highlights the specifics of on-board recorders among the various systems found on aircraft. Attention is drawn to the legal and technical compliance requirements concerning modern on-board recorders. Reference is also made to certain aspects of recording methods and data security. Furthermore, the paper especially focuses on the process of measuring a parameter, indicating the basic criteria regarding the accuracy of the measurement. In addition, the role of two essential elements in the measuring chain is discussed: the feeder as a parameter measurer and the transformation system, i.e., AC converter.

Pierwszym krokiem w kierunku rozwoju systemów klimatyzacji kopalń było opracowanie nowatorskiego rozwiązania do zwalczania zagrożeń temperaturowych w górnictwie. Rozwiązaniem tym jest system klimatyzacji wyrobisk dołowych z podajnikiem trójkomorowo-rurowym P.E.S. (Pressure Exchange System), który powstał we współpracy z firmami wyspecjalizowanymi w tym obszarze. Podajnik P.E.S. jest stosowany od ponad 25 lat w systemach klimatyzacji na całym świecie.

Simulation software can be used not only for checking the correctness of a particular design but also for finding rules which could be used in majority of future designs. In the present work the recommendations for optimal distance between a side feeder and a casting wall were formulated. The shrinkage problems with application of side feeders may arise from overheating of the moulding sand layer between casting wall and the feeder in case the neck is too short as well as formation of a hot spot at the junction of the neck and the casting. A large number of simulations using commercial software were carried out, in which the main independent variables were: the feeder’s neck length, type and geometry of the feeder, as well as geometry and material of the casting. It was found that the shrinkage defects do not appear for tubular castings, whereas for flat walled castings the neck length and the feeders’ geometry are important parameters to be set properly in order to avoid the shrinkage defects. The rules for optimal lengths were found using the Rough Sets Theory approach, separately for traditional and exothermic feeders.

A technique for path synthesis is employed to design a feeder for carrying products between two points. The feeder is assumed to be a one degree of freedom system of six links connected by means of revolute joints. The mathematical basis of the concept is presented. An exemplary solution is presented and discussed.

W pracy przedstawiono założenia konstrukcyjne, budowę i zasadę działania podajnika do kontrolowanego przemieszczania próbek w zastosowaniu do procesów cięcia tworzyw polimerowych. Wykazano zasadność podjętych prac konstrukcyjnych i wykonawczych. Dzięki zautomatyzowaniu pracy dozowania próbek, uzyskano bardzo mały rozrzut wyników siły cięcia na nożu stałym i ruchomym. Próby testowe przeprowadzono dla próbek wtryskowych z polietylenu małej gęstości.

The paper presents design assumptions, construction and operation prin-ciple of a feeder for the controlled sample displacement used in polymer material cutting processes. The relevance of undertaken constructional and executive activities was proven. Thanks to sample dosage automation, a small discrepancy of results of cutting force on the fixed and moving knives was obtained. Article describes the problem of the automatic transport of cartouches from the injection moulding machine to the printer's screen processing by using the ASi industrial network. Delivering of cartouches takes place with help of conveyor belts working in tandem with silos and units of valve plates and training walls directing their flow. The system works automatically right from the beginning till the end of the process. Thanks to this solution a work transport at the production hall is streamlined and additional free space is gained.

W artykule przedstawiono propozycje rozwiązań mechanizacji wybranych procesów odlewniczych łącznie z charakterystykami stanowisk badawczych. Zaprezentowano projekty przenośników a zwłaszcza podajników, procesów przygotowania materiałów i mas formierskich, rozwiązań formowania oraz wybijania odlewów. Skrótowo przestawiono opracowania i nowatorskie rozwiązania oraz obliczenia przenośników, podajników wibracyjnych, śrubowych, pneumatycznych i pneumatyczno-grawitacyjnych, a także oryginalnego rozwiązania przenośnika wibro-fluidyzacyjnego. Po wcześniejszych pracach dotyczących zastosowania fluidyzacji w procesach suszenia i chłodzenia piasków oraz mas formierskich, opracowano i opatentowano nową, wyjątkowo skuteczną, a zarazem uniwersalną metodę oddzielania różnorodnych zanieczyszczeń. Opracowano projekt, wykonano urządzenie oraz zrealizowano kompleks-we badania. Uzyskano w pełni miarodajne i pozytywne rezultaty skuteczności tej metody. W odniesieniu do procesu formowania, podkreślono możliwości i korzyści wytwarzania form i rdzeni z piasków powleczonych żywicą, z wykorzystaniem fluidyzacji. Ujęto skrótowo aktualne, obszerne i oryginalne prace teoretyczne i badawcze formierek impulsowych. Opracowano prototypowe rozwiązania głowic impulsowych przeznaczonych do zastąpienia mechanizmów wstrząsowych, ciągle szeroko eksploatowanych formierek wstrząsowo-prasujących umożliwiając dalszą ich eksploatację. Na szczególne podkreślenie zasługuje nowa, ekologiczna, pneumatyczna metoda niskociśnieniowego wybijania odlewów. Opracowano koncepcję, zaprojektowano i wykonano stanowisko badawcze wraz z niezbędną aparaturą do badań szybkozmiennych parametrów procesów. Pozytywne i sprawdzone rezultaty tej metody stanowiły podstawę jej opatentowania oraz opracowania urządzenia, a w dalszej kolejności koncepcji zmechanizowanego impulsowego niskociśnieniowego wybijania odlewów. Opisane w tym artykule urządzenia modelowe spełniają także funkcje dydaktyczne.

In the article suggestions of the solutions of mechanization of the chosen foundry processes together with the characteristic data of the testing stands are given. Conveyors designs and specially those concerning feeding devices, preparation processes of materials and moulding sands as well as solutions of moulding and of knocking out of castings are presented. The following problems are briefly dealt with elaborations of novel solutions as well as calculations of conveyors and various types of feeding devices (vibratory, screw, pneumatic and pneumatically-gravitational). The original solutions of vibro-fluidization conveyor is also presented. After the earlier works concerning the application of fluidization in the processes of drying and cooling sands and moulding sands, a new, exceptionally effective and at the same time universal method of separating various impurities from those sands has been elaborated and patented. A project has been made, an installation built and complex tests performed. Fully competent and advantageous results of the efficiency of this method have been obtained. In relation on the moulding processes, possibilities and advantages of manufacturing moulds and cores in resin coated sands with application of fluidization are stressed. Current, coprehensive and original theoretical and research works on impulse moulding machines are shortly discussed. Prototype solutions have been elaborated of impuls heads designed for substitution of jolting mechanism, still largely used in jolt-squeeze moulding machines making their further elaboration possible. A new, ecological, pneumatic method of low-pressure knocking out of castings deserves special attention. A concept has been elaborated, then a testing stand with a neccesary installation for testing the rapidly changing process parameters has been designed and built. Advantageous and checked results of this method have been a basis of its being patented. Then a installation has been made. Later on a concept of a mechanized impulse low-pressure knocking out of castings has been developed. The in this article described pilot installations also serve the didactic purposes.
