Pneumatic suspension is increasingly used in many cars. Control of a car body level is the main function of the pneumatic suspension. The experimental determination of the pneumatic spring characteristics suitable for the design and modeling of the car level control system is presented. The characteristics of the pneumatic spring are determined, that determine the quality of the control system. The effect of temperature changes inside the pneumatic spring is experimentally determined due to heat exchange on air pressure and vertical force during alignment of the car body. In addition, through modeling is evaluated by changing the level of the car body due to the impact of heat transfer. An original method of controlling the lifting and lowering of the vehicle body is proposed. The method is based on the energy balance and is the basis for reducing the number of strokes of the electropneumatic valve. The change in the level of the body due to the temperature effect is leveled due to the indirect consideration of this effect using the pressure sensor in the cylinder.

Shock absorber with cylindrical actuator is a new concept of integrated damper with floating device, in international patent application PCT/EP2016/061515, with wide application in road, rail and aerial vehicles. Comparative to the known solution with rubber sleeves or bellows, the new one is capable to work at more increased pressure being more compact and due to metallic cylinder is more reliable. The other important advantage consists of it applicability at any kind of shock absorber without any special preparation, the solution consisting of replacing the dust shield with a pneumatic cylinder sealed against rod with a gasket and sliding closed in the lower part by sealing element/s fitted in trough/troughs practiced in an annular body fastened against the outer cylinder. For a better behaviour the patent application contains and solutions with double sliding sealing working at high pressure and thus assuring enough floating forces to sustain the vehicle without standard metallic spring so it can be utilized successfully in aerial vehicles landing gear. By using displacement and pressure transducers and equipment of control and command, it becomes an active suspension. The paper presents the double sliding sealing solution and demonstrates, by simulation the advantages confer by this new solution of shock absorber with cylindrical actuator in landing gear. This purpose was realized a virtual suspension model on which simulated hard landing for vehicle load and unload states, for different pneumatic spring preloaded forces.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję oraz komputerowy model wybranych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych pojazdu z zawieszeniem pneumatycznym aktywnie sterowanym. Zamodelowano dwie wersje sprężyn pneumatycznych (RX-1965, RX-1974) wraz z obciążającymi je masami i układem sterującym ich wysokością. Opracowano model pojazdu szynowego (wagon pomiarowy typu pasażerskiego) z zastosowaniem modeli w/w sprężyn pneumatycznych sterowanych przez układ mikroprocesorowy. Opracowany model wagonu pomiarowego umożliwia badania symulacyjne przypadków zdarzeń występujących w eksploatacji. Przeprowadzono wielowariantowe analizy symulacyjne: badania na prostych odcinkach toru, na łukach torowych zwichrowanych i z przechyłką oraz z zadaną wysokością podłogi pojazdu. Analizy dynamiczne przeprowadzono w systemie SIMPACK 9.5, który jest jednym z aktualnie wiodących systemów wykorzystywanych do symulacji zachowania dynamicznego pojazdów szynowych. Opracowany model wagonu pomiarowego umożliwiał badania symulacyjne przypadków zdarzeń występujących w eksploatacji.

The paper presents the concept and the computer model of the selected constructional solutions of vehicle with the actively controlled air suspension. Two version of air springs (RX-1965, RX-1974) with the masses loading them and their height control system are modeled. The model of rail vehicle (measuring wagon of passenger type) is developed with using the models of the above mentioned air springs controlled by the microprocessor system. The developed model of the measuring wagon enable the simulation tests of the events that occur during exploitation. The multivariate simulation analysis are conducted: tests on the straight sections of track, on the twist and tilt track curves and with the set height of vehicle floor. The dynamic analyses are performed in SIMPACK 9.5 system, which is one of the current leading systems used to simulation of rail vehicles dynamic behavior. The developed model of measuring wagon enabled the simulation tests of the cases of events occurring during exploitation.

On our department we deal with the research and development of pneumatic flexible shaft couplings. The aim of this paper is to present the way to determine the static load characteristics of pneumatic coupling. By this method, the pneumatic flexible shaft coupling is described by a mathematical and physical model which parameters are determined from the results of static load characteristics measurement.

W naszej pracowni zajmujemy się badaniami i rozwojem pneumatycznych sprzęgieł elestycznych łączących wały. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie nowego sposobu określania właściwości statycznych pneumatycznych sprzęgieł elestycznych łączących wały. W podanym sposobie pneumatyczne sprzęgło elastyczne łączące wały jest opisane przez model matematyczno-fizyczny, którego parametry są wyznaczone na podstawie wyników pomiarów eksperymentalnych jego statycznych charakterystyk obciążenia.

The paper shows some possibilities of pneumatic springs and their mechanical and pneumatic connections in the resilient supports. The characteristics of the supports are available in many systems of technical praxis as well as by driver seats, ambulance couchettes, etc. The pneumatic springs provide the adaption of the stiffness, and here with the adaption of the natural frequency of the system to its exciting frequency. In cases of the application of the object vibration isolation, they can change the load characteristics in a relative large range and the effect is powerful. The change of the stiffness can be executed during the movement of the object, and thereby the behavior of the load characteristic ofthe spring suport becomes a hysteresis. This signals that the system is damped, and this influence on the oscillating system is positive in most vibration isolation cases.

The problem of control by a semi-active suspension for increase a ride comfort of a vehicle is considered. On an example of multidimensional mathematical model of the bus, an efficiency of a semi-active suspension with controllable shock absorbers and pneumatic springs is analyzed. Results of computer simulation of movement of the bus with a semi-active suspension on road with a stochastic profile are presented. Calculations have been executed in the program of modelling of dynamics of systems solid and elastic bodies - FRUND. As conclusions it is possible to notice that the semiactive suspension with controlled under offered laws elastic and damper elements allows to depress considerably dynamic ability to loading spring vehicle parts, thereby, raising its stroke ride comfort, without deterioration of parameters influencing stability and movement roadability. Results of numerical experiment and offered laws of controlling can form a basis for creation structurally concerning simple semiactive suspension systems a not demanding for work of a significant amount of power. The semiactive suspension with controlled under offered laws elastic and damper elements allows depressing considerably dynamic ability to loading spring vehicle parts, thereby, raising its stroke ride comfort, without deterioration of parameters influencing stability and movement roadability.
