Experimental studies of a pneumatic drive system were carried out with the ap-plied element for the concurrent movement of two pneumatic drives. The main aim of these experiments was to obtain the results of specific measurements of displacements of two piston rods of pneumatic drives in relation to different values of loads in the whole range of the travel length. On the basis of these results, the speed of piston rods of two drives was determined. The results achieved during the experiment, showed the possibility of simultaneous insertion of two pneumatic drives with the use of an ele-ment for concurrent motion. This article is a continuation of the first article which was the study of the stroke speed of pneumatic cylinders with a synchronizing element.

This article presents an experimental studies of an innovative solution for a system of two pneumatic cylinders with a synchronizing element, loaded with a force of different values. The aim of the research was to obtain the speed characteristics of two piston rods of pneumatic cylinders with the use of a synchronizing element. A comparative analysis of received characteristics was conducted and the criterion of the possibility of applying the synchronizing MZ_SYNCH element was adopted. The element for synchronizing the movement of two piston rods of pneumatic cylinders was called MZ_SYNCH for short. On the basis of the research results it was concluded that the system of two pneumatic actuators with the synchronizing element MZ_SYNCH can be used in rehabilitation devices for passive exercise of lower limbs.

This article presents a description of the equipment and the didactic and scientific research capabilities of the Laboratory of Hydraulic Drives & Vibroacoustics of Machines located at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Wrocław University of Technology. In the article, the main areas of the laboratory activity are indicated as well as didactic offer including presentation of currently available test rigs.

W artykule przedstawiono opis wyposażenia i możliwości dydaktyczne oraz naukowo-badawcze Laboratorium Napędów Hydraulicznych i Wibroakustyki Maszyn Wydziału Mechanicznego Politechniki Wrocławskiej. W artykule wskazano obszary działań Laboratorium, przedstawiono ofertę dydaktyczną, a także opisano stanowiska dydaktyczne i pomiarowe.

Przedstawiono koncepcje budowy manipulatorow z napędem pneumatycznym, w których zastosowano hamulce z cieczą magnetoreologiczną. Pokazano podstawowe modele pracy oraz rozwiązania konstrukcyjne hamulców obrotowych i liniowych. Wskazano na możliwości stosowania manipulatorów w przemyśle.

The concepts of building pneumatic manipulators used the brakes with magnetorheological fluid have been presented. The basic models as well as the design of the rotary and linear brakes have been discussed. Possible applications of the manipulators have been pointed out.

This paper investigates the development of neuro-modelling approaches for a highly non-linear system. The work is motivated by the fact that the response of a pneumatic drive is very slow, which leads to inability of the system to attain set points due to high hysteresis. Also the dynamic model of the pneumatic system is highly non-linear, which greatly complicates controller design and development. To address these problem areas, two streams of research efforts have evolved. These are: using conventional methods to develop a modelling and control strategy and adopting a strategy that does not require mathematical model of the system. This paper presents an investigation into the modelling of an air motor incorporating a pneumatic equivalent of the electric H-bridge. The pneumatic H-bridge has been devised for speed and direction control of the motor. The system characteristics are divided into three main regions, namely low speed, medium speed and high speed. The system is highly non-linear in the low speed region and hence a neuro-modelling approach is proposed.
