The paper deals with selective separation of grain materials. Two models of the pneumatic separation and results of the study concerning the separation of modelled grain material taking into account an influence of the process parameters were presented. The derivation of the first model was based on the single stage efficiency, which can be found taking into account the gas veloci ty distribution. The dimensional analysis was used in the derivation of the second model.

W pracy przedstawiono opis procesowy klasyfikatora pneumatycznego przesypowego o zmodyfikowanej konstrukcji zwiększającej selektywność rozdziału. Aparat składa się z dwu segmentów zasilanych w odmienny sposób materiałem stałym. Segment dolny zasilany jest na zasadzie zasypu, zaś segment górny w transporcie pneumatycznym. Rozwiązanie takie prowadzi do charakterystyki sprawności separacji zbliżonej do skoku jednostkowego.

This paper presents the process description of a multistage separator, the construction of which has been modified in order to increase selectivity of separation. The apparatus consists of two segments having different solid material supply modes. Lower segment supply is based on the principle that solid material is charged into its first stage while the upper segment operates in pneumatic conveying mode. This solution results in almost ideal separation efficiency characteristic.
