Implementation of an integrating robot platform as an opportunity to achieve better digital maturity of Polish enterprises

Purpose: The aim of the article is to evaluate an innovative product - the implementation of a platform that integrates and at the same time increases the digital maturity of enterprises. Relationships with system integrators are important for maintaining and increasing manufacturers' competitive advantage. Methodology. The research method includes a review of previous analyzes and assessments of digitization according to various studies, and a case study analysis - implementation of the DBR77 integration platform. Such a case study will allow for the introduction of digital solutions, which in turn will affect the level of digital maturity of both the supplier and the recipient.The example of a case study brings a lot to solving the problems of practice of companies interested in digitization, as well as an example for students. The following research questions can be posed here: RQ1. What is the role of digitalization in modern enterprises in the light of current research results in Poland? RQ2. What are the methods used to evaluate digitalization and innovation for industry? RQ3. Does implementing an integration platform help achieve better digital maturity? Findings: The Digi and Desi digital maturity methods presented in the article can be used to assess the level of digitization of an enterprise, and the case study can be a model for companies to use the robotics platform. Research limitations/implications: The research was limited by access to data due to its nature - it was sensitive data. Specific benefits could not be quantified because the company did not agree to this due to the sensitivity of the data. In addition, limitations arising from the requirements of the volume of the work do not allow for a broader analysis of platform systems. Practical implications: The study conducted can be useful fora good example for students and a model that researchers can set for didactic purposes to deepen their knowledge, as well as for enterprises interested in the digitization of modern organizations. Social implications: The integration platform is an excellent example of implementing innovative models and technologies for industrial companies as well as a model for operating in the cloud. It is an example both for enterprises operating in the cloud and for industrial startups - integrator companies. Originality/value: This case study is also a good example for students and a model that researchers can set for didactic purposes to deepen their knowledge, as well as for enterprises interested in the digitization of modern organizations. It may also be the beginning of further research in this area. So it is a contribution to the development of science. It may be worthwhile to include in further research a set of case studies covering all the major solutions that are being implemented in the factory of the future.

Rozkład jazdy stanowi podstawę logistyki i fundamentalny systemem informacyjny w publicznym transporcie zbiorowym. Obecnie oprogramowanie do projektowania rozkładów jazdy stanowią zaawansowane technologicznie systemy informatyczne oferujące możliwości szczegółowego projektowania sieci komunikacyjnych, automatycznego generowania kursów, zadań dla pojazdów i kierowców, symulacji ruchu pojazdów w sieci i analityki kosztów operacyjnych systemu transportowego. Systemy rozkładowe zasilają w niezbędne dane inne systemy miejskie m.in. systemy informacji pasażerskiej, dystrybucji biletów, systemy sterowania i kontroli ruchu, systemy ITS i wiele innych. W pracy przedstawiono istotne cechy nowoczesnego systemu projektowania rozkładów, stanowiącego jednocześnie platformę integracyjną systemów informatycznych komunikacji miejskiej.

Time table is the basis for the logistics and the fundamental IT system in an urban public transport. Nowadays the software for time table design are the advanced technology IT systems which offer possibilities of detail transit network design, automatic generation of vehicle trips, vehicle and driver tasks, simulation of vehicle traffic in the network and analysis of operational cost of transport system. Actually time table systems provide necessary data to other urban systems as passenger information systems, ticketing, traffic monitoring and control, ITS and others. In the article an important functionalities of modern timetabling system, forming simultaneously integration platform of IT systems in city public transit have been presented.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję utrzymywania wymaganego poziomu bezpieczeństwa platformy integracyjnej (PI). Wyróżniono i scharakteryzowano podstawowe elementy PI z punktu widzenia sterowania jej bieżącym poziomem bezpieczeństwa. Zaproponowano model platformy integracyjnej dla potrzeb utrzymania wymaganego poziomu bezpieczeństwa. Pożądaną bieżącą właściwość bezpieczeństwa PI uzyskuje się poprzez wygenerowanie odpowiedniej konfiguracji bezpieczeństwa PI ze zbioru rozwiązań dopuszczalnych. Zaproponowana koncepcja zapewniania bezpieczeństwa, uwzględniająca wpływ nie tylko bezpieczeństwa zasobów informacyjnych, lecz także zmian uwarunkowań pracy zarówno platformy integracyjnej (PI), systemu informacyjnego korporacji, jak i całej korporacji, stanowi własną propozycję autora.

The paper presents the concept of maintaining the required level of electronic integration platform (EPI) security. There were identified and characterized the basic elements of EPI from the viewpoint of controlling the current level of security. Electronic model of integration platform was proposed for maintaining the required level of security. The desired property of the current EPI security is achieved by generating the appropriate security configuration from the set of feasible solutions. The proposed concept of security maintenance takes into account the security of information resources, changes in operating conditions of electronic integration platform, company's information system and the entire corporation. This concept is the author's own proposal.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób badania wydajności platformy integracyjnej utworzonej przy wykorzystaniu różnych środowisk. W porównaniu środowisk uwzględniono także aspekt czasu potrzebnego na implementację rozwiązań na platformie. Analizie poddano także zakres narzędzi wspierających projektowanie rozwiązań. Artykuł zawiera opis przypadku biznesowego implementowanego na platformie integracyjnej. Przedstawiono w nim także konfigurację środowiska testowego oraz dokonano analizy wyników badań wydajnościowych.

The article demonstrates how to analyze the performance of the integration platform created with using different frameworks. In frameworks comparison also included the aspect of time required to implement solutions on the platform. The range of tools to support designing of solution was also analyzed. The article contains a description of the business case which was implemented on integration platform. The article also encompasses description of test environment and an analysis of performance test results.

In the process of adapting the organization to implement an integration platform is required to answer the questions: Does the organization know what information is or will it need? Is it ready to use integrated information? Are formal restrictions make it possible to obtain and use information? There is an attempt to approximate the matters contained in those questions, with particular emphasis on collecting data from public resources. The development of integration platforms and the need for acquiring more and more recent data, require a comprehensive approach to proposed solutions. This includes the integration of existing data sources and ability to acquire new ones. The chapter outlines the data resources available to the public, the integration not only at national but also European, is or will be possible. Expresses the resource data for selected EU countries: Czech Republic, France, Spain, Holland, Lithuania, Germany, Hungary, Great Britain and Italy.

The article demonstrates how to analyze the performance of an integration platform created using different frameworks. The paper contains a set of integration platform performance metrics. In the manuscript a justification of the frameworks selection is included as well. The article contains a description of a business case, which was implemented on the integration platform with selected frameworks. The article also encompasses the description of the test environment and an analysis of performance test results.
